Well, as you've seen, this thread was killed off before anyone could get the answer, so, after all that, I hereby reveal that the three people who guessed the correct missing link are - in order of their posts being logged: Sophisticated (Lady) Gary Ritman (absolutely NO relation to Martin Gray - despite the similar e-mail address) and Shug (but only after getting impatient and reading the answer elsewhere)
The reason PRIMAL SCREAM is the answer is they covered MOTORHEAD (the old HAWKWIND song later also performed by MOTORHEAD) on their LP VANISHING POINT, which of course is a song by New Order on Technique. To further reinforce this link, BERNARD SUMNER featured on PRIMAL SCREAM'S last LP 'XTRMNTR', and then, of course BOBBY GILLESPIE, returned the favour on Get Ready.
So the link is MOTORHEAD (a song covered by) - PRIMAL SCREAM (Bobby Gillespie) - BERNARD SUMNER (New Order) Okay? Happy Now??
SEEING AS NONE OF YOU CORRECTED WORKED OUT THE BACKWARDS CRYPTIC TEASER'S QUESTION, THIS SHOULD READ AS FOLLOWS:
Which is the only Factory catalogue number ending in a "3" that WASN'T given to an official New Order single/album release, and what title was inexplicably designated to it?
Right, that hopefully clears EVERYTHING up, and, whilst I'm here, I want to make a formal announcement that I am from now on officially retiring from setting ANY MORE trivia teasers of brain blasters etc.... because of all the stick I seem to get from them. That's it! FINITO! NO MORE! EVER!! Bloody well set your own! I've got my spliffs, so you can have your teasers! That way, we'll both stay happy!! I'm sure some of you will miss them but that's just tough. Life has to go on.... live for today!
"De tijd is nu!!" - as they like to say here in the 'Dam.....
Tot ziens! :finger:
