Primitive Notion... could it really be anything else?

Of course not.

Only Someone Like You came close but they ruined it with the 'were having the time of our lives' nonsense

I've done it before and I'll do it again.......

Return to form. Crystal followed by Someone Like You. Don't forget the Mini Album 1981-1982 Poll.

Crystal for me, by an absolute landslide. Nothing comes close.

Actually, I rather enjoyed the ENTIRE LP with the small exception of 60 MPH...:nonono:It still gets on my tits!!

Rock The Shack...

I just can't figure out why I like it so much when the rest of you think it's utter wank...

I can't remember the last time I listening to GR...I'll have to get it out this week and give it a spin so as I can vote with the full satisfaction that I know the record by heart and can, beyond a shadow of a doubt, discern the best song on the album...:thumb:

You can expect my vote for "Rock the Shack" by the end of the week :evil4:

Crystal. Sounds good in the car, pub and club. Gave local wedding dj something new to play. At the Olympia , straight down the front, stage right, for the best version however.

Tough call but Primitive Notion just edges out Crystal [blame the honey/money bit:evil4:]

I fuckin love Crystal, but I've always said I thought PN was the best on the album. Agreed Crystal sounds magic in a pub / club. But I love the sound of PrimeTime Narcotics equally:D

I'm doing my best to confond you, your behavior is so volitile, not even a zoo would impound you, don't look at me with your critical smile...

Primitive Notion, a blasphemy they didn't try it live

Primitive Notion. But Turn My Way is a sleeper.

"Crystal", "60MPH", perhaps "Someone Like You" could all make an arguement as a favorite even on the bases that they were the singles. I went with "Primitive Notion" myself. I wonder why this song wasn't picked as a single or even played live for that matter...hey, maybe an ep with "Sabotage" and "Behind Closed Doors" on it might of been an idea if the demand was there.

Either which way, Primitive Notion it is.

Primitive Notion all the way! Love that very Joy Divisionesque bassline. Someone Like You and Crystal were also close.

Crystal, closely followed by 60 Miles An Hour. Wish I could've voted for both. Ah well.

Primitive Notion. Listened to it in the car at least 10 times today; and LOUD!

Crystal is powerful. Love Dawn Zee's intro and then Barney hit the guitar, waa, wawa wa wawa wa...

Not a bad album, certainly better than Republic. I do think SLY is its weakest point. Perhaps if they left it as an instrumental.

another one for crystal was the sound of the band returning with a bang

Primitive Notion...a modern day The Perfect Kiss.

Primitive Notion for being JDish and the drums ! :drummer:

A minority vote...but I picked Vicious Streak, though there's no denying the sturm-und-drang of the two leaders. Something about the synths and Hooky's bass in VS do it for me every time...it's a bit more subtle than the over-the-heads of the other tracks...

close range over crystal by a wee bit.

Guess who votes for Turn My Way :evil4:

Come on, I am a New Order and a Pumpkin fan, what did you expect?

Problem with Crystal and 60 MAH was to have it like 6 months before their release...

I do enjoy most of the album, the best "music" on the album is probably Someone Like You, without the cheesy chorus, this would be a really good track...

I love Slow Jam, probably because I don't mind the lyrics..

Overall, I love this album, I still have problems with Run Wild, but that's me..

The real tracklisting should have included Brutal and Here To Stay, and removed Run Wild and Vicious Streak.. (not a bad song, but it's the one nobody mind, there are better b-sides off Get Ready than Vicious Streak)
