New Gig !

Well yes and no. Yes it is a new gig, in that it is confirmation of another show on the US 1987 tour they did with the Bunnymen. The Bunnymen played the Palace Theatre, Newhaven Connecticut on 29 Aug 1987 - judging from the length of the Bunnymen set, the Order were headlining that night.

http://www.neworderonline.com/MessageList.aspx?ThreadID=11932 is where you first mention the possibility of additional dates, though you mention a Providence, Rhode Island date instead of New Haven. How did it get confirmed, I assume it was something besides the bunnymen.com listing, which I wouldn't 100% trust, and isn't even actually listed there at all!

Did he tape both NO and the Bunnymen, or just the Mac corps?

Mainly just the Bunnymen I think, sadly, though there could be some New Order recordings as well. I shall endeavour to find out.
