Spotnick, please check your atlas, Fife and Aberdeen are NOT in EN-GER-LAND !! Just checking your concert history for something in 1981 and found these two bloopers (where did you get this info), I'm sure the good people from St Andrews and Aberdeen wouldn't be impressed :nono: :D

as a former resident of fife i'm always horrified when my fellow americans refer to scotland as 'england' (a common occurrence). that kind of talk will get you a severe thumping in some parts.

yeah the rest of the world is pretty damn confused about this. You can even see it on websites where you have to select a country.

for example there is no United Kingdom, only Great Britain, but no Northern Ireland

oh please ,for f**ks sake, don't start the british/english thing again..............please!!!!!!!!!:uhoh:

I always remember an interview the Manics did with an LA radio station. The interviewer said "you're from Wales ? Wales in England ?".

Sebastien did most of the data entry (in fact all pre-2001) on the site, so blame him :D

Send me the corrections via email and I'll gladly do them, I'm way late behind corrections though as I've still not done my "tools" to modify concerts on the management part of this site...

The geography of the United Kingdom for Americans. An idiots guide!

England, Wales and Scotland are seperate countries controled by one parliament (although Wales and Scotland have there own assemblies).

England Wales and Scotland together constitute Great Britain.

Since procuring Northern Ireland we also have the term United Kingdom which constitutes Great Britain and Northern Ireland!

The Republie of Ireland (also referred to as Eire) has not a thing to do with us.

there are quite a few of us yanks who know our british history! :p

and for (some) brits:

michigan is pronounced mish-i-gan, not mitch-i-gan.

maryland rhymes with harrylund, not merryland!

and, as a former british boyfriend of mine once wanted to do, no, it's not a good idea to come to new york on holiday, then just 'pop over to indianapolis by bus' to visit a friend for a day or two, all in the span of a week!

;)

I was born in Alice Springs, Australia - does that matter? Can't we stop this crap of stereotyping people - If you adore JD and/or NO I do't care where the dot on the map you come from. Of course, if you don't like JD and/or NO - piss off and go to Mars. I hear there's water there. :thumb:

what's with all these newcomers lately, coming in and having a go at a well established tested and approved formula

You'd do well to learn a bit of respect, cobber. And to check the terms of use of the site. For the record, my date of arrival is very wrong as well, as people who've been here a while will know.

Well, after nearly 7000 posts Pleasures I gather you have. Splendid work. However, 'cobber' I'm not - the typecasting continues. Apologies all-round. I'll go read some Beckett to cheer up.:laugh:

Greg, You may think you know us 'cause you've been lurking for so long, but you're new to us, which is why your unnecessarily strong comment annoyed me. You can always choose to skip a subject if you don't like it. Now if we can all calm down a bit, I'll not have to use my handbag again :D
