I was amazed, astonished, truly immobilized with a spoonful of soup in mid-air to see an actual AD for GET READY appear on MTV2 last night at about 8:45, with a brief clip from the Crystal video, a shot of the album cover, and the words "in stores now" included. Truly something I never expected to see: a TV ad for a NO album.

The record company must be keen to shift some product stateside Patrick, eh! :smoking:

Yes, Muffy, I guess Warner Records must be shocked that GR is out of the top 100 after only two weeks. I sort of expected their reaction would be more to just wash their hands of it.

By the way, Nicolas, I don't trust that listing of GR as number 4 in the Electronic album chart for a second week. If you'll notice, every chart position is exactly the same as the week before. I think somebody at Billboard just got lazy.

Pastie did you fall off your stool when that advert came on?... holy montgomery what a turn up for the books. It makes you think, why didn't they broadcast ads. prior to the release all over the world instead of sticking it on lesser MTV after it had bombed like a bastard.

I suggest a new strategy R2... let the Wookie win.

Yes, Huntsy, I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought somebody must have slipped something in my soup. The concept of TV ads to sell a product! You would have thought the remix contest would be enough, wouldn't you?

I hope they haven't spent too much money.

Usually to hear about a possible New Order release I bend down and hunch-double over a train track... if I can feel a vibration it means either a new release or a trains coming.

I hope you like tomato soup or chicken.

I hope you won't be too offended to hear, Huntsy, that my soup contains many veggies, rice, potatoes, low-sodium V-8, and... some beef.

How much can it cost to run a 15-second ad on MTV2?

you were doing well until you mentioned beef... another one of my friends consumed by the Patty.

I 'reckon about 2 thousand dollars for a prime ad. slot... which is nothing to be sniffed at. Perhaps, as mentioned, the record execs. have cacked it and thought bollards... let's bodge an advert together and hope to mergertroid that some fettlers buy it for Turn My Feet.

Pastie... sometimes I buy my best girl 'frying steak' which she loves with a slab of butter and a hint of vinegar and onions to go. I sit opposite tucking into a figgit and chips and hope that one day I receive a knock to the head, lose my memory glands and begin consuming animeuax without the horendous guilt that I've killed another manimal.

The thought of beans until the age of 203 makes me queasy with anticipation.

I knew you wouldn't like the beef part, Huntsy. I actually would just as soon have chicken, but I'm not much of a cook, so I start with canned soup and add frozen veggies, and the canned types of chicken soup just aren't very satisfactory, especially the kind they sell at drug stores, which is where I do most of my food shopping.

It appears Warner isn't going to bother with Six Miles an Hour in the U.S., but presumably they will wait on Turn My Back until Six Feet Under has run its course elsewhere, which should be about three days, so they can put out Turnabout on Thanksgiving.

New Order is almost like a representation of our own lives isn't it, and sometimes I feel like we're getting let down with the lacklustre promotion of the boys. Won't anybody fight our cause?.. is Evil Knieval not still around with his crafty bomber?

Sounds like your a chef who can only manage beans, soup and occassionally dried bread. Have you not got a beautiful lady or handsome bloke you could turn to in times of need?... why don't you do what the Huntsman sometimes attempts...

"yeah sorry I think I'm not going to be in until about 8pm" "Oh no, not again.." "Yeah sorry"

8pm in walks the Huntsman and as if by magic me bird has prepared a meal fit for a king... or, a meal fit for a Huntsmaniac.

It's a bit sad coz it looks like Stevey Barney and Peter have put in loads of promotional work themselves. You couldn't turn around in a Newsagent without seeing their 3 mugs on the front of a magazine.

Soup is generally rank. Just the smell of tomato soup makes me want to chunder. It's even worse when there's lumpy soggy croutons in it.

Its good to see you on level 10 of grouchland today Snakey... you remind me of Basil Faulty Goods.

It's coz it's cold Huntsy. I don't like cold weather. I'm a real summer person and now its freezing I'm in a sulk. All the run up to Christmas Hype is pissing me off as well.

Wheres Buster today? I think he may be embarassed after the praise of his masterpiece yesterday

Patrick, buy fresh veggies and nuke them in the microwave, they'll taste much better you know! :smoking:

Snake.. I don't think Buster's one to miss out on his own applause. No doubt he will be too wrapped up surfing planet internoid for hardcore pornographic material for his next hit film... Buster's Balls Takes Manhattan.

Huntsy, if I waited for somebody else to get me food, I'd starve. Well, actually, I could stand to lose some pounds. Too many potato chips.

Muffy, the problem with fresh veggies is it requires frequent visits to a grocery store, and I find it very hard to force myself to go.

Sorry to hear it's cold over there. I detest cold weather myself.

Ooohhhhh you sarky git, Hank, you....

I realised how stupid it sounded when I put it but couldn't be arsed to change it...coz in all honesty I expect people give about as much of a fuck as what I do as I give about what they do...

In all honesty, due to that Bin Laden chump and his cronies, the extent of what I do at the mo is flicking through the sport pages anyway

By the way Hank, who are you meant to look like, and what exactly is the 'London thing' you refer to?

So you don't work in Radio Rental's then?? have you seen that bloke who looks like the 'tin man' trying to save the 'expo's'I'm currently dressed like him, partly cos it's freezing partly cos I need to shed a stone to try and look like someone else.

Well, I'm here...

Can't believe it. Spent all morning waiting for some posting activity.

Then, I leave for 2 hours and, when I'm back, there's millions of new posts.

Well, maybe not millions...

But enough about me...

Nah, just kidding...

I'm not trying to appear mysterious but it's a bit:oI did let slip some knowledge about him that could have given me away and he shares a name with you,If I can shift the excess weight I'm gonna see if there is a gap in the market for a Patrick Berger lookalike. if it fails I can maybe try and blag me way into Anfield on match days.

Get Ready on MTV-2 sound good...but can you believe the radio station I listen to finally played Crystal last weekend, I almost drove off the road from shock.

If New Order touring in the U.S. is dependent on how many albums they sell here, we may not see 'em at all.

Maybe us americans on here should buy 10 albums each and see if it makes a difference

Yes, I too would be shocked to hear Crystal on the radio.

And here I was miffed because Crystal was only being played on two stations in Dallas, guess I should count my lucky stars!

by the way Patrick, how are you one of the 10 people in America that can get MTV2???? Are you some secret, special government agent???

I've just been getting it for about a month, Jeff. They changed all the channel numbers on my cable service and suddenly MTV2 appeared.

The ad was on three more times Friday evening.
