Albums - what do you want from them ?

I know that there have been polls before about which album is your favourite etc. Slight difference here is that I am asking you to rate them in order of preference, and will then come up with some kind of weird proportional representation solution. Only the seven proper albums count (no compilations) - seven points to be awarded to your most favourite etc, down to one point for the one you think is the one that should have stayed in the can.

For the record, my choices are (today):

  1. PC&L
  2. Low Life
  3. Technique
  4. Movement
  5. Get Ready
  6. Republic
  7. Brotherhood

  1. PC&L
  2. TECHNIQUE
  3. LOW-LIFE
  4. BROTHERHOOD
  5. GET READY
  6. MOVEMENT
  7. REPUBLIC

(Though as a disclaimer I'd just like to point out that I think a good half of 'Republic' is fantastic, if a little bit neutered. The rest is shite, tho').

Mate, is that girl the lass from "Emmerdale"? I saw her once in Pizza Express in Harrogate; saw Harry Kewell and his soap-actress missus in same venue a couple of times as well.....

The fact that I was vaguely star struck by both encounters is probably the saddest indictment of my life possible!

Surprisingly stronger, cheers. Plan to be back in work next week, hopefully without the use of crutches, and am quite frankly amazed at how quickly the human body heals itself.

Good news. Beware the hidden achilles strain early on though, the leg's compensation for muscle strength changes can tip the achilles too far !

And just how did aforementioned injury come about, Al?

1, Low-Life (best songs, best sleeve) 2, Technique (perfect balance of styles) 3, Power,Corruption & Lies (where i started age 12) 4, Brotherhood (where my mates took notice) 5, Get Ready (99% back on form) 6, Republic (side 1 great, side 2 like b.sides) 7, Movement (look at it more as Joy Division)

i based these places on overall quality including sleeves artwork & obviously MUSIC,although i think Substance deserves a place too.

  1. Movement - icy and perfect
  2. Get Ready - Greenwich, champagne and because they still can..
  3. Technique - West London, NL and because no one else could..
  4. PCL - "is it always like this"
  5. Brotherhood - F's kitchen with ACR....on another day this might be their best.
  6. Low-Life - two years asleep
  7. Republic - because, sadly almost anyone could..

Sorry for the lapse into off-topicness, Tim - but you've got to admit it, she's a FOX!!

And Tim, thanks for the support;)

Poor old 'Republic' - I'm starting to feel quite sorry for it now. Expensively put together with masses of expectation, and now ridiculed and rooted to the bottom of the table.

The aural equivalent of Leeds United in other words - BOOM! BOOM!

(Earns punch in chops from Johnny Giles at next live outing.....)

No one knows, it's just one of those things that occurs - fascia gets too restrictive for the muscles soooo they take a knife to your fascia. Scars are tiny (only an inch or so) but shins are currently yellow, purple and swollen - seems they get in under the skin, literally, then just mess around once they're down there. Ugh.
