As you've all probably twigged by now, 2004 is the 25th anniversary of the release of Unknown Pleasures, still the best debut album of all time, and the slab of vinyl that started many of the roads we now travel.

Anyway, to celebrate this milestone, I have been organising a few things behind the scenes, that will take us all back to the dark days of Manchester 1979. This is a real multimedia experience, so bear with me while it all unfolds. You won't be disappointed.

Coming soon :

* exclusive interviews with some of the people who made things happen...... * the sounds and sights of Joy Division in 1979 * New Order Online exclusives

No stone is being unturned in the quest to fill in the gaps. It'll all be worth it.

Very intriguing - looking forward to it!

You got me intrigued as well, Tim!

But there is no way you are ever going to convince me that Peter Hook is doing the main vocal on the UP version of Interzone (see the "Stevie and the JD's"thread on the lwtua/joydiv-site).:nonono:

And don't forget that next Saturday is the 25th anniversary of the first broadcast of the first Peel session!

I'm currently foregoing sleep attempting to find the interview with Hannett where he answers the question regarding the "mysterious voice" in Interzone as being IC, with lead vocal duties undertaken by our man Hook. I fear it may have vanished from cyberspace, leaving me as some sort of Jehovah's Witness figure preaching to anyone who'll listen "It was Hooky, I promise yer!". (Alternatively, if Dave Sultan's reading this, drop the man an email and clear up this madness!!)

Looking forward to it, Tim :thumb:

so Tim...would this include Known Pleasures massive world tour???

I was going to get tickets for that Coachella Festival...but if you lads will be gigging in the States, I think I'd rather save my pennies for that!!!

Thank you very much for this Tim :thumb: , and might I add that some, like me, might relive a bit of how dire it was back then when there was hardly any access to that incredible music from their locale ( had to order via the mail via Rough Trade, all the local shops were absolutely clueless back then) :nonono:

No chance of a Known Pleasures tour of the US, unless a promoter comes forward with a realistic package. It wouldn't sell, and we don't have money to chuck away !

Uh? It's PH - definitely.

Keep listening. It took me nearly 25 years to work out that both vocal lines on UP are Curtis (and some police voice pattern software).
