Phil, YOU live in Manchester, Like I do, yeah? Have you not heard of this local band? They're pretty well-known in an underground, culty sort of way. Been going a good six or seven years: all the members (including myself) have played or ARE playing in a vast assortment on other bands at the moment. The singer is so easily recognisable:, you could pick him out anywhere - he's a scribe, a TV presenter, a gobshite, a motormouth, a producer, a man-about-town, a gig-ligger, a former Blackpool native....need I go on! COME ON, I'm SURE you must have heard of us!!! fuck, I shouldn't be doing this, plugging our band on a New Order website messageboard.

Here - this'll clinch it for ya - the name of the band sound uncannily like a brand of coffee - so it did to me at any rate when I first heard of 'em, years before only becoming their second drummer!!

You'll have to come and check us out when we next play the Roadhouse - you might even like us! :)

Sorry lads but I reckon New Order are a Cheshire band. Steve and Gillian are from Macc, Barney lives in Cheshire and Hooky used to have some Cheshire lads playing in revenge. They should start to support Crewe Alexandra as they are the Armarni of football teams compared to Man Utds C&A and Man City's Top Shop. Sorry Manchester but we have stole your band. In return though we could let you have the Charlatans (Northwich) Mansun (Chester) and Dario G (Crewe. Fair trade or what!!!!!!!

Hey Lee, I notice you're from Crewe - have you ever heard of a curious band called "Wedding In Rio"?? If not, just for the record, they're a fusion of Brazilian Samba rhythms (hence the name), Gothy electronics, thrash metal and rapping. Very strange indeed, but rather intriguing. I occasionally help out with them on all sorts of drums and percussion, but we played the Limelight venue earlier this year - and it was packed! They may not be your cup of tea, but I can't think of any other local bands from Crewe that have any sort of recognition. (we once got mentioned in Kerrang! you know - of all places, shocking, I know!!) Okay, enough self-promotion for another day.....!!! Before I start justifying my "gobshite" title........

[What the friggin hell is WRONG with this damn site recently  - it's always busy or server's faulty or whatever - that's why every message keeps getting duplicated...DAMN! Someone sort this fucker out!! It's pissing me off  ]

Top Hole Adam! JOHN ROBB it certainly is!! (NOW do you see who I was gettin' at, Shug, Phil, etc?? Writer? TV presenter? Motormouth ranter? Author of some books: "The Stone Roses" biog, "Manchester", "The Nineties - What The Fuck Was That About?"? Band frontman? Old punk dinosaur?) And GOLD BLADE is the name of the band!! Let us know if you're up for any of our future gigs Adam (if you've heard of them or like any of their stuff, that is...) and when we're next in London, I'll get you in on the guest list!
