Dream Order..........

Had a dream about the band last night, or was it a premonition...?

It started off with me flicking over the tv channels, NewOrder were on BBC2 doing an informal interview on one of those pop magazine type shows, this in itself was interesting enough to make me take notice, but things were to get much weirder....

After a brief superficial chat, the band then got up on stage and performed their new single entitled "Atmospheric"

Now what really freaked me out when i woke up was that i could remember not only the lyrics but the bass chords as well! I literally watched the whole song on TV in my dream, Barney's infamous dancing with a cordless Mic and Hooky prancing about on stage and nearly falling into the crowd!

By the time i had got up and had a shower and breakie i had forgotten most of the lyrics but could still remember the opening line..

And though its cold deep in your heart, you knew I never would depart

and the chorus..

I gotta place for you, you gotta place for me - can barely believe its true, im still in love with you

I can also remember the bass line that goes with the chorus, although thats in my head and not being a musician i cant write it down!

It so could have been a new order song it kinda freaked me out a bit!!

(and no i wasnt watching the Brits last night I was watching the England Under 21's match on skysports!! 3-2 england by the way! )

I had a dream like that after falling asleep listening to PCL late one night,weird part was Ian was singing & Barney had a perm!

A Perm

After a gig induced new order day, had a dream i was playing cricket with hooky (bizzare), and then i realised it was ian botham (bizzararerar)

my best mate stayed at my place at uni once and in the morning he told me about this wierd dream he'd had where he was in his mates car and they were driving through a bush in a ditch and the car had no back window.

The following night he was in a car crash where the car drove into a ditch, trhough some bushes and he got out through the now missing back window. (he got out with a broken nose and cuts + bruises)

It was the same mate, same car and he was sat in the same place.

How did Welsh play? The commentators rated him, I thought he drifted in and out a bit to he honest, but hes industrious I give him that!

Apart from the "New Order jumping from garbage dumpster to dupmster" dream, my wierdest New Order-related dream was seeing JD play live (not so weird) at a kid's birthday party (pretty weird). I think the song in question was Dead Souls and it was probably inpsired by an afternoon I spent hanging out with my coz listening to DS while his mother in the next room was playing a Christian children's song ("They keep calling me" followed by kiddie voices singing about Jesus is downright odd). Anyway, the band was covered by streamers that hung from the ceiling, I think some kid threw cake at Barney (a portent of things to come, no doubt :D ) and Ian was doing the "dead-fly" dance while kids looked on or just ran wild throwing shit everywhere. Totally bizarre

I think I've mentioned my dream a few times in which I broke into Barney's house and found some tapes of unreleased New Order songs in the basement. The songs sounded more like Electronic, actually, since I could still hear the synth lines once I woke up.

I had a dream I was eating a giant marshmellow and when I woke up my pillow was gone.

I had a dream there were bunnies as soldiers lined up the street at midnight.

*It could really be a New Order song, and I actually like these lyrics! :) I also relate to them, to a certain moment of my past... All you gotta do is trying to do this song yourself, it looks promising...

I've had a number of NO-related dreams, such as me and my friend Ian Curtis getting kicked out a department store together, and the one where me, Barney, Hooky, and Steve were rescued from a desert island by swimming out to a boat that turned out to be a schoolbus full of Catholic schoolgirls. Anyway....

Back to the topic, I can't remember any specific dreams, but listening to MP3s before sleep probably has me programming Emulators over a vat of molten magma while Stephen and Hooky play congos to "Inbetween Days" while Barney starts yelling the lyrics to "La Vida Loca" after downing a bottle of cough syrup in one gulp. Gillain looks on wearing Hooky's leather pants and only giggles, but in a helium pitched voice
