Everyone is always saying 'the best this' and 'the best that', but what is the worst track by each incarnation of new order?

e.g.

Joy Division - As You Said New Order - Subculture Electronic - Visit Me Other Two - Wierd Woman (or whatever its called) Revenge - All of it

OK, your turn...

Visit Me is great!!!

Joy Division's worst has got to be Failures or At A Later Date

New Order ? Well, personally I find We All Stand virtually unlistenable.

Subculture is brilliant !

As for the 'side projects', I don't listen to them enough to know

Subculture and Visit me are great!

I think the most song New Order have made is Brutal.

For New Order, I would have to say "Turn the Heater On."

Subculture, defintiely. As for JD, probably Glass...

When all you folks are flogging sub-culture, is it the original, or that horrid mess they made of it on Substance? Because if you are bad mouthing the original, I shall have to unleash the Huns upon your homes, and have them devour ALL of your relatives.... :nonono:

I think the five-track digipak remix version of "Ruined In A Day" is BY FAR the stinkiest travesty to come out under New Order's name. EACH track was almost identical - intro, rhythm, ending, not to mention the same length. SLY and ROBBIE were the miscreants responsible for this turd. They must have been taking the piss. Bigtime. Shame on them! "Ruined In A Lunchtime" More like. Needless to say, said digpak went back to the flog-shop without delay. The bad smell of that one still lingers to this day. Talk about totally inapproriate remixes..... :nonono:

what........I love the punk rock feel of JD's Glass. My least fav JD track has got to be The Eternal, and I can't stand NO's Confusion.

I'm not too fond of Autosuggestion by JD, and for NO, Cries and Whispers really doesn't do a whole hell of a lot for me, but I would pick that over Britney and day....as for Electronic, you could take almost all of Twisted Tenderness and toss it out (remember though, I like sub-culture, whereas the rest of you seem to hate it)...and Revenge, take the Gun World Porn disc, and banish it to room 101...

Okay then: New Order: SHAME of The Nation. Utter Cack! Runner up: all the remixes of 1963 (except the Arthur Baker one) and everything previously unreleased on (The Rest Of), naturally. Electronic: Can't really nominate one cos I ain't got all their singles and albums. But they have turned out some tosh as well. Revenge: ditto above Other Two: A good third of their first LP was pretty piss poor. Monaco: That housey one off their second self-titled LP. Buggered if I remember the title. Sweet Lips, also, cos it sounds like a Take That song ferchrissakes.

I meant Shellshock when I said Subculture. Sorry!

Anyone a fan of JD's Novelty? Its' pretty good live, judging by the fourth H$S disc.

Hey Taboo - did you ever get that New Order Story thing I tried to email to you? It seemed to have disappeared into cyberspace without any trace!

I'm slagging both off. The original has terrible singing, the remix has an awful bassline.

The bassline is actually intentionally like that - sequenced OFF-BEAT - in a vain (and pretty futile, it has to be said) attempt to give the beat a "funkier" kick. Whatever the fuggin hell that means. But yeah - I agree, that remix is SO gratuitous. (espesh that totally pointless stuttering section halfway thru the 12" vinyl version - no wonder the version on Substance 1987 is massively edited down) And it heralded the first appearance on a NO record of those dreaded cliched backing singers.

New Order World in Motion Joy Division Komakino Electronic When she's gone

Don't really listen to Revenge, Monaco or the other 2, although I do have the albums.

You mean at my old address, right? I couldn't get to that, sorry. I'd say run it by Nic, see if he'll let ya post it here in the stories section. That way we can avoid it getting lost again.

Every Little Counts. I don't see what all the hype is with this song.

Worst songs......hmmmmm

JD - You're No Good For Me/most of the unreleased (officially) Warsaw stuff NO - Confusion/Every Little Counts

Can't be arsed with Electronic, The Other Two or Revenge. Monaco didn't do a bad song.

Shellshock--the worst song they ever made? Are you serious? I'm sort of partial to the song myself. It was the first New Order track I ever heard, and it turned me on to the band.

Shellshock? Tabsy, not with you on that one mate, although I agree it's not a classic. Uninteresting Fact: When my wee brother was 3, this was the first song he could sing all the way through, it well impressed my mates:laugh: Nowadays he's nearly 16 and prefers Oasis:nonono: Where did it all go wrong?

Worst song?

From New Order.. one I truly don't like is Angel Dust off Brotherhood.. don't ask me why, I just don't like it. Shellshock is not one of my favorite either.

From Joy Division, it's too hard since I don't know them as much as the other.. I like plenty of songs, but I didn't give enough time to the others to grow, so I won't risk it...

From The Other Two, there is plenty I can't listen too much on their first album... But Weird Woman is a good track :D

From Revenge, sorry I only know 3 songs from them!

From Electronic, Out of my League would be the whiner.. sorry, winner.

From Monaco? I kind of like them all.. probably their version of You Should Be Dancing....!!

For JD, Glass I think is pretty mediocre.. and why? Steve's rhythm! It's one of the more boring. (But then I haven't heard it live..) I think Steve has this unannounced power over the quality of the song, but then I'm totally biased...

For New Order, all those godawful remixes. I can never get it out of my head that "I'm not listening to a new song, I'm just listening to a remix of a song I've already heard." Maybe I'm simple-minded.

Truly, Novelty is a good song, and definitely good live. I think it's one of the more extroverted songs they did... In a way, it's just as good as These Days..

Well, David, I'm pleased to find that we agree about Shellshock. I don't understand why so many people apparently don't like it.

Shellshock, Subculture etc?? Come on, most of the drivel on Movement is far worse than those two. Mind you, Slow Jam comes pretty damn close.

Electronic: Until the end of time..a horrible squiggly mess..'your driving me crazy, oh baby...' Barney what were you thinking?

Monaco: Most of the 2nd album, but Ballroom was worse than most

Jd: I thought 'Sound of Music' was jsut about unlistenable

Other 2: 'You can fly' was pretty naff
