one of my m8s has been round today with one of them magic mic karaoke jobs. as you can imagine he went on to bore us all shitless with renditions of copacabana,my way (franks not sid version)unfortunately, angels and various other ear bleeders. as he was mooing into his mic i nearly dropped the teapot when there in the list of song was "bizzare love triangle" then at the side the group that made it popular, the group was called FRENTE? even though it was credited as new order when it came up on the screen.

  1. who are frente? i gather that they are an asian band as these mics are from korea i think?
  2. has anyone else spotted any new order songs on a karaoke anywhere. the version of blt wasnt bad actually even though it was all done as a midi file.

Don't think Frente's Asian (but not sure), their version wuz on the media archives way back, and is either stripped-down acoustic or faithful to the original techno sound (can't remember which).

Probably just a harmless glitch in the system. Nothing to see here, move along. Move along.

Frente! is a group from Australia. They had a major hit with their acoustic cover of BLT in 1994. Many (including me) consider this cover as one of the best cover of N.O ever done.

You can actually karaoke-ize all the songs you want on your pc :D Just download the Mp3Doctor and choose the Karaoke option.

The sound quality is a bit poor as the main vox frequencies are removed.... but you'll be able to sing to each and every NO song you want

Here's a link: http://www.4musics.com/Rippers/Mp3Doctor.htm

I don't know if this works on karaoke players (or whatever they're called) but the PC speakers and a mic work fine for me;)

Why BLT and not Blue Monday? I'm just wondering, since the latter seemed more popular - not that I'm planning to do karaoke.

Saw 'Crystal' on a Karaoke playlist, in all places, Grantown-on-Spey, Scottish Highlands whilst on holiday a couple of years ago......

Come on. You've been to a Karaoke night. Can you imagine having to sit there while someone prances and gurns through the full seven minutes of Blue Monday ? They'd never have the TOTP edit version on there ! At least BLT can be a manageable 4 mins !

I've been witness to ATR doing Blue Monday at a v.dodgy Norvern boozer near the Band On The Wall.

Not a pretty sight. :evil4:

I'd rather not have to listen to a bunch of drunks singing out of tune top 40 pop songs with a teleprompter.

Actually... it can be quite funny sometimes:p Especially when a bunch of drunk giants is doing a fully choreographed version of "like a virgin"

Crystal is on the local fellas karaoke machine, our kid says he gets them off the net, asks this week and he'll have it for the next, either that or he makes 'em hiself, he has a couple of Big Audio Dynamite ones which are just the words on plain backgrounds, he fills our local no problem, he was also booked a coupla years ago by a member of the Order
