It's the closest thing SP has done to a NO song. SP's influences range from NO and the Cure to Cheap Trick to Led Zeppelin and Metallica. However, their sound is more Cheap Trick, leaning toward the heavy metal, than NO.

As for NO covers, I haven't heard Vietnam, but most of the rest of them blow in my opinion. Except Turn the Heater On, it's pretty good.

I could go on with some crap about how they've become a JD covers band, and how much I'd like them to cover some NO.
But seriously, before I want them to cover someone else's work, I'd like them to look at their back catalogue and realize that they indeed did write more than 16 songs, So that the next time they play live there is a bit more variety.
In terms on recording someone else's songs nothing comes to mind that I'd like them to do.
I'd quite like to hear them doing:
'The Model' - Kraftwerk
'Electricity' - OMITD (a Factory release...)
'Wishing (If I had a photograph of you)' - A Flock of Seagulls
'Decades' - Joy Division
and probably many more. Don't think they're likely to play ANY of them though...

To be checked. I don't know this track. But imagine Sympathy for the devil mixed with Temptation (the whoooo whooo's in both songs...). Could be cool.
Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. Although the guitar bits would certainly test Mr.Sumner.
Covers are shite cop outs, New Order should be above them (aside from Turn the Heater On and Vietnam; the former was when the band was low on ideas, the later was for charity).
