At the beginning of September, Nicola Sirkis, frontman of the French group Indochine, went to New York to record "Le grand secret" in duet with Melissa Auf Der Maur.

Melissa, ex-bassist of Hole and the Smashing Pumpkins, has also played bass on that track, which will be featured on Indochine's next album to be released March 2002.

THAT IS SO FUNNY !!!!!

There are 6 degrees of separation:

  • Nicola Sirkis went to see New Order at the Olympia yesterday;
  • He has recorded a duet with Melissa Auf Der Maur;
  • Melissa is an ex bass player with the Smashing Pumpkins;
  • Billy Corgan, frontman of the Pumpkins, recorded Turn My Way with New Order and played live with them;
  • Melissa is from Montreal;
  • The webmasters of NewOrderOnline are from Montreal

Wow....

And the seventh degree of separation would be that Indochine's management contacted me to organize their next tour in Quebec.

My conclusions are:

-We live in a small world -Life is a full circle

Seb, very philosophic this morning.

:lol: Maybe the towel you're using right now...

Seriously though It's a grammatical error mostly due to the fact that I'm swedish! The swedish way to reply to a riddle would be "the towel" "the .. " etc..

No Jeff, I'm having a lovely wonderful day; i just don't see where the humour in Sebsy's original post is. it's more ironic than humourous in my eyes

That's because it's a bit cryptic for the non-french speaking persons, HM, Nicola Sirkis being the singer of the french band Indochine.

The TOWEL!!

I'll try and explain..

What happens to a towel when you're drying something (or yourself) with it? It gets wetter! Gettit? Wetter... as its drying?? Gettit???

:)

That's not strictly true Sophisticated (Lady), because as the towel gets wetter, the person using the towel is getting dryer, not the towel.

I can't believe a non-English speaker is having to explain this joke !

A towel gets wetter as it's drying the person using it - hence - What gets wetter as it's drying ? - a towel
