Having seen the mighty Kraftwerk on Thursday, I thought I'd spend my remaining time in the Capital by popping into HMV. Here I bought a book called 'The 500 Greatest singles since punk and disco (this is uncool)' by Garry Mulholland. I was attracted by the number of New Order sleeves reproduced in full colour. As it was cheap (£10 in the sale) I bought it and was astounded to discover that of the 500 singles, Mr. M had included no less than 15 on the Factory label.
According to my dodgy maths this means that 3% of all great singles released since Punk have been produced by Factory! I salute Mr. M. for his taste.
Just for the record here's the 15:
ACR 1 ESG 1 JD 3 HM 4 NO 5
Well worth a read (though I will forgive him his many factual innacurracies - hey, 'fact'ual do you geddit!)
