Substance by Joy Division or New Order?

I haven't got the JD substance, what's on it that's not available on the rest?!

always thought the JD Substance to be so uneven (only ever played the CD version), but obviously has such great songs included. not really a great listen overall in and of itself, nor a complete picture for those just learning about JD, but has some of the great tracks you cant deny.

The NewOrder Substance is a great product thou, always loved the concept. Two versions of State of the Nation was overkill, incomplete Perfect Kiss, hell they could have edited down Shellshock or State of the Nation to a 7" edit, would not been a great loss.

heck, i used to just record them all on cassette tapes in the order that i felt was best anyway. (the dark pre-CD burning, pre-CD player built in to new cars era.)
