Every New Order song - with the exception of the 81-82 EP and Movement - is about love.On the other hand, no Joy Division songs - with the exception of LWTUA, Atmosphere, and (sort of) Shadowplay - are about love.I think this captures a big difference between the two bands. Anyone agree?
Although the lyrics seems to suggest a love song, I've read that Angel Dust is actually about drug addiction? This was Barney saying it, som maybe it's not something to attach importance to (knowing our Barney, he's not always truthful, esp. not when in mood for jokes)
But lyric-wise, it's true their songs suggest being about love. This is kind of interesting since I really don't like love songs (ie ballads etc), at least I claim to not like them.. Because I often find them cheap and too naive. But New Order are not cheap and naive, off course...
