Several tapes I've heard have some fella stating "this is a Lazlo production". Who is he and does he contribute here?

Lazlo is Martin Biggs, who was a bootlegger around the late 80s (primarily 1987). Used to mark his recordings by stating "this is a Lazlo production" after the first track. Usually poor quality, but usually available very quickly after the gig. Did a lot of trading with "Snotters" from Sharing The Groove, and many NO gigs from 87 that Snotters has will be from the Lazlo master. I've got about six maybe of his, there are better quality versions available of every one.
Thanks for that Tim. The one's in question were 1986/87. Totally agree about the quality though. Total pants. A microphone under the coat job it seems.

Do you think? I thought his summer 87 stuff were some of the best bootlegs I ever got on New Order.
Got a couple of funny pics of him and ATR somewhere - them in France 89, then again in Paris 2001.
Is he still around then ? Not heard of him for years. None of the summer 87 ones I had were any good at all, listened to the Hacienda one the other night while I converted it to CD, and either the tape hasn't survived very well or it wasn't a very good recording in the first place.

The one's I've heard Hac 10/86, Hac 06/87, Reading 06/87, Wembley 87 weren't brilliant but worth listening too nonetheless. As Tim said there's probably better versions in circulation now.

Yep. Defo over in Paris for the 2001 gigs, and the UK shows just before ... didn't see him at either UK gig in 2002 though, but think ATR said he was there.
Another "Lazlo production" is the Barrowlands '87 gig, and yeah, there's a much better audience version.
I haven't extensively listened to my late 86-87 stash of cassettes...this is the only one I've encountered so far.

Someone called Lazlo does the music for the grand theft auto series. He acts as one of the radio djs, in GTA 3 he hosted the chatterbox station and in Vice City he presented V-Rock. Some of it is actually pretty damn funny.
