Greetings everyone!

This is DJ Medusa - I'm spinning this event along with DJ Strange and I just wanted to say hello/introduce myself!

I've been a member of NOOL for quite a while now but I hadn't made a foray into the message boards - until now!

This will be our 3rd time doing AVALANCHE - hence it being called AVALANCHE 3. You can view our setlists from the first 2 editions of AVALANCHE by visiting my web site, here: http://www.medusapromotions.com

I'm excited about AVALANCHE 3 and I am really looking forward to meeting many of you, so don't be shy - introduce yourself at the DJ booth!

P.S. Yes, this is an ages 21+ event.

Cheers

DJ Medusa.

Thanks - I'm glad you liked them! :)

I tried to get my picture to show up on here, but I couldn't (hence that deleted entry of mine in this thread).

Perhaps my picture will show up soon ...

I think I have to go to a wedding that weekend (no, not mine!....:( ), but if I'm mistaken, I might try and make it.

Then again, I want to preserve the magical aura of "the Masked NO-Onliner" that I mistakenly have assumed for myself...it all depends really :hat:

i have that t-shirt, but not cut off around the neck like that. i get made fun of by friends when i wear it. they call it the fag of the united states. not funny.

Yes, that's the picture that I was hoping would show up!

I like that t-shirt too, but when I got it, it was far too large. So I customized it by cutting off the neck, sleeves and a large slit up the back. Then I could fasten it with pins to make it tighter.

The picture is of me DJ'ing at the first AVALANCHE, in June 2002.

I hope somebody is bringing a video camcorder to this show... (digital so we can get it quick!)

Unfortunately I can't do it, our holiday in Canada is one week earlier (Queen Victoria's day or Fête de Dollar if you are in Québec!), and I'm working the next day...

Can't take a vacation, they are all planned already... :eek3:

I think frank smarra is trying to round up some New Yorker to come down that weekend. Anyone from NYC interested in coming down, you should try to get a hold of Frank..:)

you've been listening to new order how long? im sure youve made mix cds before putting songs in order of how they sound best, same thing. from what i remember at blue room in dc was that they were using 2 cd players, if they have a bmp counter it helps, but i think you'd rock. its more about passion than dj'ing skills.

Just a reminder that this event is THIS Sunday! :)

Hope to see you all there! Monday is a holiday, so live it up this Sunday night and stay the whole time! :)

Wish I could make it. So far, DC seems to be the most geographically convenient to here (Philly). But I'll be up in New York state this weekend.

Have fun! As if that is an issue.

had a fine time. It was nice to meet some fans in my area. A lot of people attended the event. better than expected i think. New order spinning all night at a club with a brew, you couldn't ask for anything more! :D

Here is the setlist from AVALANCHE 3!

A fantastic night! My favorite so far that we have done this year (how could it NOT be?! - the music is stellar!). :) There were lots of people there and having the holiday the next day was of course beneficial. Requests we got were: New Order's "All The Way," "Run," "Dreams Never End," and "Hurt;" and Electronic's "Twisted Tenderness" and "Disappointed."

The only New Order t-shirt I spotted (perhaps there were more but I missed them?) was a guy wearing a "Get Ready" shirt - the one with the girl looking through the camera.

Another t-shirt I saw, though not N.O.-related said, "Cat: The Other White Meat." Hmmm. ;)

My thoughts are that I *didn't* want this night to end - every time I've done AVALANCHE I've felt this way, though particularly during this 3rd one. How can you go wrong with the music of New Order, et al?! You can't! :) And everyone was loving it! :)

So there's my review! I look forward to seeing what (else) wenOrder/Michael has to say! ;)

Cheers & thanks to all who attended!
