Ok so as I was driving and listening to In Session earlier today I had an epiphany:
Why don't NO go in the studio and make live recordings of all of their songs and release them??!!
OK, before you start laughing...at least hear me out.
the In Session tracks, much like the Peel Session tracks are amazing. They give us a raw, well recorded, and close up version of songs that we have only heard live in large concert halls or produced to slick perfection (not including Brotherhood :)
Many songs were rarely performed live and this would give them a chance to be well recorded for us as they were written/performed live by the band themselves.
These versions are likely to be as close to the way as the band initially heard them as being written...before production
This takes care of Barney's dislike of touring and still lets us hear them live.
Gillian can play/contribute becuase these could be recorded in her and Steve's studio
We could get to hear most if not ALL of the songs that we know and love but that were rarely included in the setlist (especially as the repertoire of hits built up over the years)
This would give NO a whole new set of recordings that they could market and sell. True fans like NOOLer's would likely be willing to pay a decent amount for these recordings. My guess is that they could do the equivalent of 8-10 In Session equivalents with their back catalog. This benefits the fans and NO.
your thoughts??
