Just how many different versions do we currently have?

I have looked through my list...

Trace Mix Submission Mix Making Out Mix Delorian Mix Album Version

Obviously I know where the album and making out mixes originated, is there any info on the others anywhere? and are there any more floating about?

I was under the imression that the other mixes were Razormaid style edits or overdubbed album versions, rather than actual remixes done with the master tapes for Factory.

I don't know of any 'official' remixes from the time that ever got bootlegged or made available. There was supposedly a radio edit made of the album version, so we'd surely have also heard that by now if these were official mixes.

I've not heard them all, though: one listen to them will confirm if they have been properly "remixed" or just overdubbed.

Just played the Trace Mix again, and this is nothing more than someone having fun with the album version in a wav editor - definitely not official, and very dull!

Best version is indeed the Razormaid Mix on "In Hindsight 2" IMHO...

It's mixing the album version and the making out mix, it's quite enjoyable...

I love the sounds in the making out mix, so it's a nice upgrade..

I think Razormaid are incapable of improving anything, actually. Including Vanishing Point and Sub-culture. As a rule of thumb, New Order's best versions are the first ones they make (i.e. Temptation 12", Perfect Kiss 12", Sub-culture Low-life version, Round & Round album version, Bizarre Love Triangle album version, Vanishing Point album version). Usually the case, I think.

Everyone differs compadre, my favourite version of Subculture is the first Razormaid Mix. Mr Johnny, I know what you mean, but again, I think it's the Trace Mix with the longer version but less dubs than the other mixes that is pretty shit hot:nod:

Well, my best version would be a Making Out Mix with vocals... since that doesn't exist, I have to live with the closest to that, hence the Razormaid mix.

But I'm with Shug on that one, they have done the best version of Subculture existing...

I'd love to have to Razormaid mix of Vanishing Point as I really like the original and the Making Out version. Shame I can't get hold of the bugger! :nonono:
