If this is the GENUINE one then i was offered this aprox 13 years ago for £35.At the time the versions i wanted from the 12 inch REMIXES one could not be found on the BRITISH ones.I forget how this panned out now but i did buy the AMERICAN one soon after.Even though i was an avid collector at this time the amount wanted was way beyond what i was willing to pay.I had heard that there was a very rare CANADA one released in a TRIANGLE SHAPED cover issued to DJ's but i was never able to verify this existed.I once asked the question on here about it but never got a definitive answer. But this shows that if you want something badly enough you will pay a lot.I know it is CRAZY but i have been there and bought the ticket in getting some rare items, albeit at very little money in comparison to today's prices. But funny enough some stuff sold for MORE back then before the INTERNET and lack of information about RARE items.I remember HIBSTER commenting on this a while back with regard to prices not HOLDING out like they had in the late 80's /early 90's.But as there is still so much i am after, the way i go about it is to find them in SHOPS/CAR BOOTS but this is getting very difficult now.I do buy some items from E1L etc but prefer the OLD WAYS.I have yet to bid on a CD from E-BAY but once bid on a CAR CARRY CASE for LOWLIFE but lossed out.Maybe i will change my collecting eventually though.

Were it not for the Internet, I'd never have known about half of these rare items in New Order's discography, as the biographies and articles you see only ever mention bits of the back catalogue.
The Internet is great for tracking down all the various hard to find tracks, but EIL is very overpriced, and bidding on Ebay can often be cheaper than buying at online record stores. It tends to fluctuate a bit though, and you can often blag a bargain online. There's only something like 20 individual tracks by New Order I am still seeking (including the mythical 1983 Blue Monday 7 Inch), but don't like my chances now, after some 4-5 years of occasionally scouring the web for them!
As for that World in Motion release - if it's the actual mixes you're after, then the Canadian 6-track CD single has all those on this promo plus the seven inch A and B-side mixes. There are some slightly different edits of the 'B-Side', 'Subbuteo Dub' and 'No Alla Violenza' mixes on the UK CD single and remix 12", but basically if you get the Canadian CDS, you've got them all, really.
Mr Discography.
Cheers MR DISCOGRAPHY for the CANADA issue idea.I still don't have this and so don't have the tracks on CD yet.I remenber getting sidetracked when trying to buy all these versions at that time.
Good luck with your quest though and i often visit your site which is excellent and VERY informative.

Speaking of ebay muppetry, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2252&item=4011205429&rd=1 is calling the AoC/BM/Isolation 3 tracker that certain ebay'ers seem fond of as "rehearsals".
"Also flyers and a 3 track CD recorded via DAT for the rehearsals in a practice room for the last tour including great versions of Age of Consent - Blue Monday (including X rated lyrics) and a fantastic version of the joy division classic Isolation including mistakes and talking between tracks. The quality is fantastic and you will be pleased with the items - 1 day sale so catch it while you can.
I'm almost tempted to bid on this so I can liberate the CD, assuming it's anything special and the bidder isn't lying. Worst case is I get completely gipped, or I get a few nice postcards from Urbis.

finished at £156 who are they kidding!
this has been on before by the same seller, this guy is obviously getting his mates to bid rediculous amounts just to push the price up!
i should know i was bidding last time against the same said guy and low and behold he has "won" it again!
lets see how long it is b4 it goes on ebay again!
dont think i'll bid on it again tho!
there are far more interesting other new order etc items to win and certainly not at these redicoulous prices!

The one I was watching (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4011205429&category=2252&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1) didn't get bid on (or maybe it got pulled)...oh well. I still would like to know if that three track soundcheck/rehearsal is what it is claimed to be or if it's a load of bollocks.

More than a tenner for WIFM - no matter HOW rare is insanity in my book.
I checked out the Ebay auctions for the Sordide Sentimental 7" after posts here - the bootleg 'Medusa' one - there have been THREE advertised in the last month.

I have the canadian 6 tracks cd but its a regular cd single. It's not a triangle shape thingy.
from TLV's site; CD5: CA 1990 (Polygram 846 237-2) 4:30 World in Motion... (single mix) 5:40 World in Motion... (no alla violenza mix) 5:52 World in Motion... (carabinieri mix) 5:08 World in Motion... (subbuteo mix) 5:08 World in Motion... (subbuteo dub) 4:48 World in Motion... (the b-side)
I don't know if it's rare though...
Cheers BE MUSIC...i guess for once this guy's information was wrong.Must admit it really intrigued me at the time.I have been trying to find my ORIGINAL letter about this but i think i must now be satisfied that it does not exist.

I had to post this one, as it's almost unbelievable - the description, the starting price, etc...

Blue Monday 12".
Now I'm fairly sure that this release had at least a quarter of them with the labels on the wrong sides (I have two copies) and what's with the 'ultra rare' floppy disc sleeve? ![]()

Loads had them on the wrong sides
Ultra rare floppy disc sleeve? Shit for 21 years i`ve thought that was the ONLY sleeve. Anyone have a copy with the common non-floopy disc sleeve i can have?![]()
The non-floppy disc cut out sleeve is rarer and there are two of them going on Ebay at the moment...
Originally posted by Slippy Hmmm ultra-rare eh! Sold 3 million copies how the f**k can it be ultra-rare!!??
bravo!!!!
i have had 4 (same floppy) copies of this,2 are worn out !
the "normal" sleeve is rarer than the floppy for sure!
was'nt the normal sleeve the re-issue when bm got back into the charts in 83/84?
or am i just pissing in the wind?
perhaps people list the bm floppy sleeve 12 as "ultra rare" due to its age (21 years !f**k me!i is getting old!) ?
theres always some mug out there on ebay who will undoubtedly pay top dollar for this "ultra rare" item!!![]()
regards
p.s anyone got a spare "normal" copy for sale? must have missed this one !![]()
