Is this the record for longest NO tune other than Saville Soundtrack and Elegia? Noticed some proto-temptation lyrics but have not had time to really listen to the song.

what about Video 586?, its something like 22m 25s

Haven't heard that one yet, but I really enjoy the 13:19 version at Glastonbury 81. Totally different intro, sounds a bit like the Peel Session 5 8 6, goes at a medium chug, speeds up crazily, then goes back to the normal tempo as we know it.

there was the 20min ultraviolence performance in hull once. sounds like it had elements of video586 in it, do you think they were sister tracks?

i think live 586 was historically the long player.

it was always chucked in after a few thrashers to give the mob a bit of restbite...thats my theory anyways

Think we had a thread on this before, can't remember all the outcomes though. There was a very long (maybe 20 mins) 586 in New Zealand 1982, the last track of the set (we never know which the venue was !), there was a very long Ultraviolence at Hull 1982, and one or two very long EGGs in the early days. There was also a 12 minute Thieves Like Us on at least two of the early renditions.

The Happy One goes on for the entire length of the Substance video..... :evil4:

I thought it was fairly certain that they played Union Hall, Victoria University, 08 Dec 1982. Interestingly enough, the 06 Dec 1982 date may have been there as well, rather than at Hillsborough Hotel, Christchurch. (something about Auckland->Christchurch->Wellington itenarary not being the most convenient)...New Order spent quite a long time in NZ it seems. But I'm all ears to hear other thoughts, as this has always been a bit of a mystery...

Their 'jam' live with 52nd Street at the Kilburn National Ballroom went on for ages. Seemed like half an hour at the time, but then again I was CONSTANTLY pissed in those days... Oh yeah, I still am...

I forgot about the 52nd St jam. I have it but have never listened to it. Most people say its shiite.
