Got the tickets through at the weekend. Who else has tickets, and what are the suggestions for meeting up beforehand. Dry and Dukes 92 seem obvious choices....anywhere else?

Rocket I have your ticket in the house, you can thank John by getting me a few beers;)

I have already spoken to Liam and Ness, as far as I know they are definites. Got an email from Liv last week saying she and Kezbah were getting tickets as well.

Should be a good craic!

Yeah, I'll be there too. I've never been to Dry, though I've mostly heard less than complementary things about it. Still, sounds good to me and makes sense in a pilgrimage kind of way (and it feels like a bloody pilgrimage coming all the way down from up here: do I get the credit as the punter making the longest trip?)

Slippy how long have you been waiting for your tickets? I would thought I should have recieved them by now. This is one gig I am can't miss.

Nah, can't be arsed with this one! :\ohwell:

Avoid Dry though, it's sh1te. That Dukes is infinitely better, 'specially if it's a lovely summer's day (er, two hopes in Mancland then).

Was going to get you to rename this thread to............ A TRIBUTE TO JOHN SLUDDEN . Again i am astounded by this guy's generosity and what a great gesture.I just hope that it does not put any NOOL's here from making the trip now.Just cos the ROCKET is coming shouldn't spoil it for you!:wink:I am really looking forward to this now.Any chance of MAJOR making it or is he still doing his FINALS?Heres hoping for a good day out and do come along and meet me please. Now what shall i wear.....:D

I guess it'll be compulsory for everyone in attendance to wear KFC buckets on our collective heads. I've no doubt it's what Rob would've wanted!!

No doubt John will see the thread for himself Mick, I'll pass on yer thanks when I see him at footy on Friday if he's not on here before then.

Do we have a time for meet-up yet? I'm not drinking so might not be an early starter, but if we're staying in Dukes rather than going on a crawl that at least means I've not got to worry about not finding people....

NOT DRINKING:scratch:

Only kidding Frads:D Fook knows what time, early arvo though:nod:

Gotta drive, Shug; plus I have to travel back up to Aberdeen to invigilate an exam on the Tuesday, so can live without a hangover during the long trek up from Stoke.

Plus it means I (theoretically) shouldn't break any bones this time around!

Aye, am deffo up for this! Liv's booked tickets for me and my mate Linz (who also came to Old Trafford gig), and my mate Matt's coming too :thumb:

Boozy woozy wise, Duke's is deffo better option, if only coz it's nearer to the Ritz....god, it's donkey's since I've been in the Ritz, can't wait to experience the infamous bouncing dancefloor for old times sake!

Shuglet, I shall be in attendance ... however will not be going to Dukes 92, on account of it being shite.

Will be at ; The Peveril of the Peak, wherein a game of traditional bar football can be had, along with decent ales. The Pev was the local of Robbie Coltranes character in Cracker.

Onto ; The Britons Protection, another trad Manc pub, with a selection of whiskey to die for, if you're that way inclined.

Then to ; The Temple of convenience, unusual architecture and fine jukebox here , specialise in strong fuck off lagers and pilsners.

Amble to, The Fab Cafe , unusual fittings and a Dalek , Manchesters take on kitsch tv culture and fine prices to boot.

Then prior to the Ritz and her sprung dancefloor, the Salisbury and Thirsty Scholar , for fine draught ales. By which time I shall be in the mood for a bit of a cavort.

Lemme know if you's intend on being in dry nearer the date, I'll say hello

Despite your help mate, some work's come up that'll keep me busy till Friday, so thats the inaugral dates off, so we are lookin at the Liverpool and Manc dates in June.... sadly there may not be a Client A or B in support...gutted aint the word. Still, thanks for the links and allusions to flip-flop abuse......

PS: Have you read Big Deal by Anthony Holden ? Excellent book and good background to the Vegas Poker tournaments I remain as ever intrigued, perhaps enlightenment will ensue at some future London gig ?

Indeed, not sure if JG actually made it this eve either cos I got an 'out of office till Friday' from his mail, and no word on text. Of course, he may actually be following said Client B's flip-flops round the country as I type, hence the 'out of office'.

Actually going to see 'em in London again next Tuesday. They do a gig a month down the Notting Hill Arts Centre. It would be rude not to attend.

JG out till Friday, does seem a tad coincidental , I'll make sure I can access CNN or somesuch, possibly Entertainment AOL news; for stalker and flip-flop related hi-jinks ... Really gutted though on a personal level, our Steve is really busy , but would have dropped all to go , however shared costs dissappearin made his mind up, so Liverpool it is.

Ah the adavantages of t'capital, monthly gig by Client .. Rude not to sir, rude not to.

This will be the first and probably only time that "This Time I'm Not Wrong" will be played live right?

And it will be acoustic, just like almanso did

Aye, I'm defintley in for it.

I going to have to give the alcohol a wide berth though. Unless i get an absolute bucketload of studying done the next fortnight. I have a ten hour bus journey the next day and my final exam on the thursday 27th so i think thats a good enough excuse.

Bet i get tanked though!:beer::beer:

As for a venue. I despise the thirsty scholar. Overdraft is good though. That bar that used to be a toilet is a good one as well, but probably to small for a load of pissed up New Order fans to go in.

As i'm a student i could, theoretically, get us all in Manchester Students Union on Oxford road, where the drink is dirt cheap. I'll check that out. Failing that, theres a lovely pub behind jonny R library called the dulcie.

Personal choice would be Dry though.

Or Spoons.

Too long. I missed the Turnmill's gig cos of serious balls up. I hope this doesn't end up down the pan too!

Tickets arrived, I'm starting to look forward to this one!! :p

Did you get the tickets from ticketline.co.uk? I really wish I had bought them in person now at the box office in Manchester I just assumed this gig would be a sell out.

If I don't recieve them tomorrow I may phone up and ask if I can collect them.

This gig is somthing I cannot miss especialy if New Order do turn up, I have never actually seen them live before (although I heared them at Move 2002).

Yep, ticketline.co.uk. I ordered them when the gig was announced, just on the off chance new order would appear!! Barney and Hooky is enough - much better than the glastonbury play fiasco. Anyone know what happened to that? Think I've still got tickets for that one somewhere!!!

Yep I still can't quite believe they are going to turn up. Although its a big club with a capacity of I would gues around 2000 so I doubt any of us would get to meet them.

Its funny Barnie and Hooky are the two main people I would want to see from New Order anyway. Stephen Morris is brilliant but dosn't seem as important as the other two (no pun intended) eventhough he probably is.
