I think this one of those songs that really grows on you the more you here it. This is the first New Order song I ever heared (I bet not many people can say that) and every time I hear it sounds better.
I think its possibly New Order's most simple song and thats to me why its so appealing. You can listen to it regardless of mood.
I have to say I'm really sick of it now cos - along with Blue Monday - it seems like the only New Order single that those crappy pub DJs ever bother owning and, like BM, it seems to be reissued and remixed every few years.

Their modification of the Perfecto Remix that they play live & in session is great. Sick to the back teeth of the original version, though
I know what you mean, their is an indie club in Manchester called 42nd Street, they seem to thinn they play different indie i.e not the most well kown songs. So you would expect the New Order song to be Bizzare Love Triangle or somthing like that, what do they play? Temptation.
The other club 5th Ave only plays Blue Monday and Love Will Tear Us Apart, but lately they don't seem to play any manc stuff at all.
yeah when it came out in 1987 i thought it was the best thing they had one.perfect pop .perfect new order.but i`m sick of it now .never play it.

It's hard to combine a realistic theme to a song and make it sound good, but they did - Barney tried to imagine being a drug-dependent and did a very convincing job imo. I haven't been listening to it for the last 15 years like some people though so it figures that I'm not sick of it.
Spin Magazine named it Best Single when it was released as the A side of 1963. I like the Morning Sun mix. Would like to get it on cd.
Rather see them play Hurt or Lonesome Tonight for the next tour. TF was played to death since its inception, especially the last tour. Its on both 316 and 511 and every bootleg since 98. TPK better song anyway. Just sort of sick of it.
Love the original version,cant stand the Perfecto/Live mix. The "Morning Sun" mix is fairly easy to get on CD,its on (the rest of),1963 CD single & there is a US promo cd single with it on.

I think I have it 3 times on CD, so it's not difficult to get.. rest of / 1963 / BM95...

Difference between doing drugs and being dependent on them
After I first heard True Faith, I listened to it like 3 million times and then got tired of it. But recently, after listening to it again, driving down the road at midnight with the volume turned up high, I realized the greatness of True Faith.
