Bernard claimed Stockholm to be his very favorite city in Europe
I thought Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne and you name it were his fav. cities??

Mario, I visited your country about 6 years ago but the beauty of the land and kindness of the people stay with me as if it were yesterday. Stockholm is on my travel list since the recent influx of quality electronic music from Scandanavia. I hope the vivatv works once they start streaming the show!
Just back from Stockholm. Band came on v.late (gone 11?). Small, intimate venue. Dead easy to get close to Hooky with plenty of photo opportunities (that's if I hadn't wasted all my camera shots in the bar before!).
Dead polite, well behaved audience. Those in seats remained seated the entire show. All of them! And those standing basically, well, stood. A bit of jumping around on occasion, but nothing too hectic. Went off a bit for Ceremony, but no one appeared to have heard Temptation before.
If you had just one ticket between you it would've been dead easy to blag this one - the Swedes appear such an honest bunch - as security was lapse to say the least on all the doors. Mind, the ones down the front were a bit of a pain moaning at people taking snapshots until Hooky roared out that everyone should be allowed to take piccies as they'd not played Stockholm for 20 years.
No Alan Wise - Arthur Baker did the introductions himself straight after 'Good Vibrations'.
Not sure I believe Barney that he's really, really enjoying himself, especially when he says it for the sixth time.
Hooky being his usual antagonistic self towards the English fans, but I'm sure he loves us all deep down. I'm sure he does. Doesn't he?
Barney appeared to screw up words for just about every song going, Hooky even filling in, in places. Quite impressed that Barney managed to squeeze in the entire first verse of True Faith well before he was supposed to and managed to repeat it again in its entirity seconds later in the correct place. Well done, that man.
Quite funny also to hear him say "We've been on tour for Seven WHOLE Days!" And love the way Steve always does a Comedy Club "Du-dum!" on his drums whenever Barney cracks a wry remark.
Oh, and Hooky went through about 4 basses as he was continually breaking strings.
Gillian watched the entire set from the back of the stage.
Gig seemed like more of a comfortable wind-down, than trying to end the the year on a high.
Er, have I forgotten anything?
Apologies to the poor young lad who ran off with my flag when the roadies returned it from the stage and 5 big English lads jumped on him to return it to me. It wasn't a momento to run off with, it was mine. Easy mistake to make.
And special mentions to Ger who travelled over from Ireland and got ripped off by the touts outside (see point about easy blagging above), and to QPR Si, the exiled Brit in Sweden who'd not seen the band in 15 odd years but had still clocked up a good 30+ gigs before that time and sported a fantastic Perfect Kiss tattoo! (If you read this mate, I've walked off with your CD case of PC&L - sorry about that! Then again, you did mug us at QPR and the Kenny earlier this year!).
Sorry if this doesn't read too cleanly - bit tired and just doing a brain dump.
Oh, and as for the set. Well, we all know it by now. Only difference was that there was no Ruined In A Day last night.
Nice one ,Allen. I thought in comparison with the English, the German crowd was a bit tame.One could also just stand in front.But apparently the swedes are even more tame. And your post is of excellent reading quality by the way.

Thanx Allan, nice report. I should have been there, I´m still completely in trance because of the cologne gig. They rule and comments like yours underline my impression: NO also enjoyed the tour and had their fun!

Just wanted to drop in and tell you a bit about the show....
It was fantastic!!
But, Allen, everyone didn´t stay in their seats :) I was there quite early with my friends and we just walked right to the front row (I had tickets for the 9th row!). I was right in the center at the front row, and took loads of pictures, I´ll post them here when I get home! The only thing that bothered me a bit was the #%&$! Security guard who decided to sit in front of me and take up 50% of my view. But he decided to move away after someone in the audience insulted him. :)
Barney did a lot of weird dancing... Does he always do that? He danced his way through almost whole Bizarre Love Triangle...

Indeed, Barney dances like a twat. Quite funny at Stockholm when Hooky was bawling out "Go on, Bernard, give it to 'em son!!" during once of Barney's more ridiculous moments.
Just remembered - Barney took the mic stand apart at the end and threw various bits into the audience, then picked up the stand itself before realising it was perhaps a little too much rock&roll, so just put the stand down again.
Did you get any pix of a big Welsh lad in a Viking helmet air-bass'ing with Hooky at the right of the stage? Would love to see some of them if you have as my camera was all out of film so I didn't get any snaps!
Here's another little review. Sorry for the delay.
First of all, the venue was really ideal if you were lucky to get a ticket that is. The theaterlike Cirkus mostly hosts musicals such as Evita which was on the same day. While entering the venue I couldn't see any sign saying New Order at the entrance. Only a lot of promotion for the Evita show. I could have believed that I had come to the wrong place, if it wasn't for all the 30+ geezers flocking at the entrance.
Maybe it was the result of the demographics, but the crowd really was reserved. I was a bit afraid that Barney would pull a "Mungersdorfer" and abuse the audience. Instead Barney remained very polite and on a good mood throughout the gig. At the sarkiest moment he asked the crowd if they were having a reasonably good time. And the crowd were having a good time despite that they only got going occasionally. Temptation was well received, as were Ceremony and the biggest hits.
As usual there there were sound problems during the first half. The guitars sounded out of tune and Barneys comments between the songs were merely instructions to the mixing board. Around halfway the sound improved and the comedian in the Barnster was unleashed. Barney's voice started to crack and he apologized to the crowd and explained that is was because of the long touring. "This is our last gig on our tour and we've been on the road for seven... days!! Seven long fooking days and we are all very exhausted". And he had a really funny sort of pissed off expression on the face while saying it. Another great moment of comedy was when Barney claimed that Phil had spent so much money on the hotel porn channels that they didn't make any profit on this tour. 
Neither Barney nor Hooky had moved much first, but during the second half it was all about the Barn dance and the bass excursions. Great stuff!!!! 
I had a seat in the ninth row with a good view and about 30 ft to the stage. But I could only sit midway through the opening Crystal and I just had to get up. So there's more evidence that everyone didn't stay in the seats. One thing I regret is that I failed to see Gillian as the main rightside speakers blocked the view to her corner. I only knew about Gillian's presence because Allen Jarvis asked me if I had noticed her. A big hello to Jarvo!!!
There was some big bloke with a viking helmet. So he was Welsh!? That figures. Since a real Swede would hardly put such a thing on their head. The Welshman tried to offer Hooky the helmet, but Hooky knew too well that viking helmets are NOT cool and declined. Though, on a second thought Hooky really IS the bass viking.
All in all it was absolutely fantastic to see these living legends live in front of you. They've been my heroes for such a long time. And they didn't disappoint me.
The Swedish press critics seemed to like the show as well. They rated it with four stars out of five.

Blimey, were you the Swedish lad who said Hello at the end of the gig? You write - how to put this? - very 'English' English for a Scandy.
The Viking helmet was in reference to the fact that in years gone by the track from "The Vikings" film (feat. Kirk Douglas) was synonymous with the band, cos they used it for a while as entrance music, encore music, etc many times. Such hats have appeared at gigs before (all the lads were told to remove them for TFI Friday in 98). The hat was intially worn on the night by Alex in the Man U top, until Hooky told him from the stage that the hat made him "look more of a c*** than he usually does".
Yes, Allen. That was me at the end of the gig. Cheers! Too bad I didn't see the Sophisticated Lady.
King of Nothing, if I had stayed in my seats (9th row) we might have seen each other, but as I said I was in the front! I also saw Gillian (at least it looked like her) from the back och the stage. I saw that guy with the viking helmet but didn´t get any pics of him and hooky together...
Allen, as for the flag - I didn´t see what happened, just that something was causing a commotion over at that side of the stage... I heard my friends saying though, that they´d really really, really like to have that flag. Obviously, someone else was thinking the same thing. :)
