I was just curious if anyone here knows who is the present owner of Ian Curtis' suicide house. I know it was for sale back in 2002. Also, how many people here have made the trip to the suicide house and gravestone of Ian Curtis?

Well Maclesfield is only 30 odd miles away from Widness. Where Paul Simon wrote Homeward Bound :P

Ian's house may not be Graceland but its still full of musical history.

Wasn't there another suspicious death at 77 Barton Steet some years later? A murder or something, can't quite remember the exact story. :shrug:

Yes, I heard that, too.

The makers of whatever Ian Curtis movie is being made should give the owners of the house a lot of payola so they can go in and film on location there...or at least reconstruct it exactly on a sound stage. That would be pretty cool. A little triangular blue room....

LA is too expensive, they should shoot it in Vancouver...Canadian accents sound just like those of Northern Monkeys (I mean no disrespect...just watched Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels again)...

Yes, I went to Ian's house (shame on me) and I was the one who discovered that it was up for sell and I told the news to David Sultan instead Nicolas (shame on me again). You can see the picture my girlfriend took of house with the real state sign on it in the pictures gallery of this website.

Of course, Texans DO have strong accents ;) Californians sound like Washingtonians, but people from British Columbia tend to have Canadian accents. It's a pretty subtle accent, but you can spot it. Canada also tends to have a lot more British, Australian, and other foreign accents than most of Washington, I've noticed.

Oh well, I never noticed actually.

One thing for sure, I can't sense any accent when somebody is singing in english... UK or US, sounds the same to me!

Perhaps the National Trust could buy the house - like they did with Lennon's in Liverpool. Then fans could go in and see a restored hanging scene - Iggy Pop album, Herzog film, etc.

Now that would be tasteful.

Of course, Texans DO have strong accents ;) nah, the canadian accent is a lot different to the american accent. the can accent is a lot slower and deliberate than the american accent. i noticed this when in de mexicana party capital o la cancun last november! not saying that you guys are slow or anything,but,yours is a very ,very boring PART OF OUR COLONY!HE ,HE, whats this british columbia thing? is it where you can get a gram of the old marching powder for a grand? regards :nuts:

p.s this northern monkeys thing. A, too many foreigners watch london based films. B,if it was'nt for the PROPER workers of the north there would'nt be a london.........................................
