Wrong encoded CD text for track listing...

I was wondering if any of you fans noticed the encoded text for track listing in NO CDs. You see, I've never own a CD-text capable CD player in the past so I didn't know the incorrect text encoded in the CDs until now, when I started to convert all my NO CDs into MP3 files in my hard disk. You'll be surprised. My UK-released MOVEMENT CD has Gil-Scott Heron's album & tracks encoded. One of the singles ( can't remember which one ) has TONI BRAXTON's Unbreak My Heart listed!!!!....

I supposed the best one for me was one of Belle & Sebastian CD was encoded with tracks from PANTERA's FAR BEYOND DRIVEN!!! Such opposites....

Are you sure they put the right cd in the cases?

Track 3 on Get Ready is apparently called "Turm My Way"!

Only a few recent CD's actually have the text encoded onto the disc itself. All the other listings come from internet based CD Database. Your copying / ripping software kindly accesses this database in an attempt to save you having to manually type all the titles in.

Maybe the PCL mixup comes from it's American release, where they put Blue Monday at the end of side 1 (ie after 586 and before YSF) and The Beach at the end of side 2.

I think you're right about P.C.L. everything else has shuffled along one as well.

Sorry, what I meant was the text for track listing encoded in the CD itself. If you put a CD into your CD-rom drive and run a MP3 software to convert/rip the music from the CD into MP3 format, you'll find track listing automatically comes up..most of the time anyway...So my NO CD and other CDs sometimes comes up with unusual titles...maybe the guy working in the pressing plant was too lazy to change the listing when manufacturing the CD....

And Sebastian, my odd experience was buying a PSB CD( it was Very, I think ) and played the disc...and I think some kind of music sounding like Captain Beefheart or Frank Zappa came out...the entire disc was pressed wrongly...Anyway I kept it, I bought it for the cover.

While we're on the subject, I heard something really funny recently. Their was an error in the mastering of about 1.000 Therapy? CD's. The right packaging but... some Eurodance when you played it.

Yes...that would be funny!!! Like last year here in Sydney, there was some mix-up with concert venues or tickets, I can't remember...but it was between The Corrs and Soundgarden or Pantera or something very opposite...HEE-HEE-HEE

Well, my experience was the following: I bought the Substance CD. I had the vinyl record that was compesed only by the 12 songs from CD1. When I got home I put CD1 on CD Player and it began to play In a Lonely Place, wich I didn't Know yet, instead of Ceremony. The print on two CDs were interchanged.

I played my Heart and Soul Joy Division Box set CDs on my winamp, then the band title is shown as THE joy division.

I bought the Revenge album in 1992 for £1. At home I found TWO copies of the CD in the case. Was this really the only way they could get rid of those Revenge records...

Mind you, that was still a rip-off.
