True Faith Video Question

Where is the live footage on the TrueFaith video from? i seem to remember once i heard it was from Glastonbury festival, however im sure many of you know the answer and if its ever been made available to buy ???

ahhh.. nice one :) must have been Glast87 then. BBC did release it in audio format, seems a tragic shame if the video is gathering dust in some beeb vault tho :(

Who are the other 1750?

The recording of the live footage on the True Faith video was recorded at Glastonbury but I don't think anything else was recorded. From the mudbath there didn't appear to be any cameras on or off stage on any other tracks. There is a fairly good quality video of the gig and although this focuses on the stage it can be clearly seen that the only time camera men crawl onto the stage is during True Faith.

The BBC audio recording is crap. The gig was mixed directly onto tape preventing later mixing, for example the BBC mixing engineer has Hookys backing vocals completely mixed down although the mixing desk had them at normal levels. Again there are bootleg audio tapes better than the CD, probably mixing desk recordings.

On the subject recordings has anyone seen the following which were professionally recorded?

1. Hacienda Dec 1985, Old Grey Whistle test broadcast As it is, when it was and Sunrise. What happened to the rest of the gig?
2. G-Mex 1986 Festival of the 10th Summer. All recorded but not seen.
3. World Aids Day 1987 Brixton Academy. What happened to Touche by the Hand of God, first time played but a bloody good attempt.

The Brixton gig is featured on the Academy video, but it doesn't contain TBTHOG.

"Norderphile" Re: your question #1 The Old Grey Whistle Test did indeed broadcast the two tracks live from the gig which should I presume be included in the Low Life tour section of this website, but isnt. They waited until the very end of the show to keep us all "in order", and then couldnt wait to broadcast the credits over Barneys guitar solo. I have this on VHS, a little wobbly at the beginning, but it still does the trick. Question #2 I too often wonder why the cameras were there on the 18th July, and not a general release to come of it. I have this bootleg on C90 cassette. Question #3 You would think that the producers/editors would rather put out the gig as it was so to speak, rather than messing it up like they did. Again this one on C90 cassette, if it is of any interest.

They'd been playing Touched By The Hand of God for several months by the time they played Brixton ! It had probably been given at least a dozen live airings by then, in Japan and Australia.

The simple answer to this is that it was an unreleased track destined to be a single at the time of the video being edited, and the band took the decision to pull it from the recording. PFD featured As It Is And When It Was when it was still very much work in progress, but as this was an album track rather than a forthcoming single, they have a different policy.

G-Mex wasn't released as a video because they weren't happy with it, so I was always led to believe. There were also 4 unreleased songs (at least at the time of the gig), which constituted 40% of the set, and the decision may have been made to pull these as well.

Aha - some interesting information here. Surprised how little of this video stuff has appeared - you'd think with the Order's voracious fanbase some of it would have leaked through "unofficially" one way or another. I'd particularly like to see the GMEX '86 stuff.....perhaps a DVD compilation a la "Recycle" would be the way to rectify this...

..and on the subject of DVDs, does anyone have a provisional release date for the Finsbury DVD????????
