Run / Run2 ??

A few questions about these:

1. Is Run2 really any different? Can't tell!
2. Just taken delivery of the 7" of Run2, how may were pressed?
3. Did the 7" have a picture sleeve? I think I may have been conned!
4. Where was the 12" graphic taken from?
5. Does it sound like any other songs?

2.Aprox 500 but i think this is MISLEADING! 3.No cover...you have not been conned. 4.From a SOAP POWDER called BOLD i think.Almost the SAME!

i dont there is a differenance, well damn i cant spell.....

if you can`t tell the difference between Run and Run2 you need to take that cotton wool out of your ears.Run 2 has a different drum sound ,slightly different arrangement .

If I remember well, Run 2 is the same version as the video.

Aye, a different snare sound, and the long instrumental passage at the end on the 'Technique' version is moved into the middle of the second verse, so kind of give it a more "instrumental break" feel to it.

I think the main reason the single is called 'Run 2' was dictated by the 'Bold 3' visual inspiration for the cover - i.e. it needed a number as well as letters for people to get the reference (to a soap powder, bizarre!).

Never seen the light on CD, these two mixes - along with MTO. Master tapes rumoured burnt/lost, if I recall.

The extended mix is rather good,MTO is a hidden gem-Technique produced the best B.Sides i think,and the sleeve is exactly what Saville did best-take someone elses work,flip it and make it his own. A vital release in my mind.

me thinks run 2 made it to cd on either 'best of' or 'rest of' if only i could find it i would confirm which

Run is mislabeled Run 2 on The Best Of.

It sure in the hell is!! I can't tell you how excited I was back in '95 to get a copy of that bad chad home thinking I had R2 on CD only to find out otherwise...Damn New Order!!! Always gotta make things diffcult!!

Oh yeah...I finally found that hidden Love Vigilantes on RETRO....

Thanks to a really generous UK NOOLER I am the proud owner of a "CD Single" featuring both versions of Run2 and MTO. I had never heard the real Run2 (especially the 12") till recently, well I did see the film clip.

CD 2 skip back before the first track and there it is

now i thought run 2 Started with a semi long drum intro with lead guitar eventually running over it then it all kicks in and the song is vasically the same as run just mixed differently, i thought the vidos version was a video edit with a different snare sound but basically the same as run?

But the question is was there any reason for the remix?

I think Run 2 is Scott Litt's take on producing it, whereas the Technique version is New Order's original production. I think I read this here, by the way.

John Denver did sue them for what he thought was plagiarising Leaving On A Jet Plane, and if I'm not mistaken an out-of-court settlement cooled his western jets.

It sounds a bit like it as much as most things in pop music sound like something else in pop music...

The "video edit" you refer to is Run 2. The one with the drum intro is Run 2 (Extended Version). Both on side 1 of the 12 inch. Simple! I think the same guy did both mixes, but can't be arsed to check on the label.
