My history teacher says that he taught Ian Curtis when living in Macclesfield in the 70s. He says that he taught him briefly in general studies and home economics.

Is there anyone on the board who shared classes at school with Ian?

There's at least one old man on here who attended with Barney and Hooky. Don't know about Ian, though. Why not ask on the Joy Division Central board, as they seem to have a lot more old men on there who were closer to the band personally.

OLDSCOOL as the programme on the AMP says. mid 40s isnt old anyway, as david brent says "more late 30s".

Debbie Curtis's book has a good section on the school years. Sounded bleak, all cough medicine and punk festivals :evil4:

I might just consider letting you off then once I've stopped pissing my incontinence pants with laughter. Thats, of course, if I've remembered to put them on, what with the onset of Alzheimers. I love the ambiguity that can be caused by the absence of smilies these days. Look beyond the day in hand! As for being proud its more like an embarrassment having being at school with them. Just a bunch of idle thuggish talentless cretins.And that was just the teachers.
