melodicas

saw tim booth in the fleece & firkin on monday & lisa in his band played a melodica with a pipe attachment at the end, anyone know if these are new additions or whether they have been around for a while?

someone on the tim booth forum said they are a standard option, but not sure if they would have been back when pc&l was being recorded...

Most of them have a pipe option, they don't add anything to the sound to be honest. All they do is prevent you from biting the mouthpiece on the main body of the instrument.

I have the Hohner Soprana last used by Barney at Manchester Apollo 98. Great on the Mantlepiece
