What do you think SHOULD be the title of the upcoming Ian Curtis biopic(s)? Transmission has been suggested, and Touching From a Distance is the title of the source material, so let's go out on a limb for the sake of creativity and humor.

I think "A Means to an End" would make a better title than "Transmission." Thoughts?

Deborah Curtis' title for the book was originally "Exorcise One", which personally I like a lot.....

The Happy One.

JD lyrics are full of great one liners, theyll come up with something good. Id hate to see it being called "LWTUA", but wouldnt put it past some demographic obsessed hollywood dipstick to name it just that.

Say LWTUA and it sounds like Lawooteeya. That sounds good.

What about that musical title that never materialized, Isolation?

Has to be a something from a JD song I suppose.

As much as I love LWTUA I would hate to see it been called that, it would be so cheap and tacky. As for transmision I don;t see why it would be called that.

I am not sure what a good name would be really.

I didn't even think Joy Division were popular enough to get a film made about them and Ian Curtis.

My mum had never even heared of Joy Division before I got into them.

NO/JD simply aren't famous; perhaps, then, still, 'faceless'. My mum knows who Morrissey is; however, despite the fact that (due to endless exposure when I was an adolescent, and the tape I made for her car) she can almost certainly sing every word of "Temptation", "Thieves...." or "Ceremony", I know for certain that she has no idea who Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Gillian Gilbert/Morris or Stevie Morris are. Or Rob Gretton, despite the fact that I told her I was going to a Rob Gretton tribute night a few months back....

I really hope they don't call it Love Will Tear Us Apart. It's so obvious, it would be cringeworthy.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did go for that title, though - it's by far JD's most famous song - LWTUA seems to be the only JD song that ever gets played on UK radio. (Although Simon Mayo did play Decades once - and someone phoned in to complain that the record was off-centre!) :-)

They should go for "Ceremony at the foot of the garden"!
