Managed to destroy two copies or more of any New Order CD?

I tried to play Get Ready today, and found that Crystal and Guilty Partner were eaten away beyond reading, even with cdparanoia, and a few other tracks are wonky on normal CD players - Slow Jam being one but not a great loss...

This is the second copy of Get Ready I've bought. Paid full price for both, so when I've replaced it, NO will have got over 50 euros from me for one album....

I cannot find Get Ready. I think I lost in our van. I had to replace Republic because of a scratch. And I have an extra copy of Technique and the BBC Glastonbury gig for the same reason.

No always a different album.

Only one so far. It was Brotherhood. It's always a bit painful when a original pressing no longer works.

Guilty Partner isn't on Get Ready.

I lost a copy of technique and my best of jumped all over the place until I got a decent CD player

Just burn yourself back ups and play them instead keeping the originals safe in their packaging.

I can never get Guilty Partner to play when I have Get Ready in the CD player. :p

I've played each of my NO cd's maybe 3 or four times each; I simply put the songs on my comp, and from there they go on my mp3 player. I don't think I've touched Low-Life for about a year.

I have learned to do this after replacing my cd collection TWICE due to thieves breaking into my Jeep and taking my cd's. Now I just carry the copies and keep the rest at home.:thumb:

Only WIFM - then I regret it and go out and buy it again - it's part of my collection after all...

Good point. This is why I'm never posting after midnight again if I need to make sense.

cdparanoia in Linux? or have they ported to LoseDos? Damn man that is one fucked up CD. I left CDP running on my Other2+u which looks like it's been hit with a shotgun, it took about 13 hours ( and damn near burned me drive out,but it lifted the lot!!! oh for those simple pleasures like being able to rip, name and file an album, just by typing "rip -S" :-)

I use BeOS. And I left CDP running *all day* on a machine with a 52x drive and a 1.7Ghz CPU (and a very, very low overhead OS), and it still couldn't get those two off.
