The trainspotting soundtrack is in the shortlist for best soundtrack.

I also read on teletext today that C4 will be running a poll to determine the bets 10 albums from each decade from the 50s onwards, and these will then be discussed etc. in a weekly series of TV shows to be broadcast later this year.

Should we not organise ourselves into voting for at least one 80s LP (I guess "Closer" or "Low Life" are the obvious ones) to make sure The Greatest Band That Ever Lived and Breathed stake their rightful place in the run down. (We should also vote for "Unknown Pleasures" in the 70s, too.......

Remember: if we don't, fucking Sade or Duran Duran will take the Order's place.

Over here in Oz, the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD newspaper ( it's the main broadsheet paper in Sydney...probably like the UK Guardian ) had a special poll for readers a few weeks ago during the commemoration of '50 years of Rock' ( that's 50 years since the Pelvic released 'It's all right, Mama' single )....amongst the 10 best songs in the last 50 years was JD's LWTUA ( can't remember the exact position, though ) but unfortunately none of NO or JD appeared on the 10 best albums, though...

If we're going to block vote, Republic for the 1990's and Get Ready for the 00's. May as well see what impact we can make...
