I'm a semi-new fan of NO and over the passed few months have read several different versions of the origon this track. Is the song about homosexaulity or drug addiction? And are there any other tracks with the same feel of it? or Crystal for that matter? Thanks for your response. :thumb::beer:

Drug dependency. Barney says so in an interview on worldinmotion.net

ok. thanks for replying. Do you know of any tracks that sound along the lines of true faith or crystal? Honestly, It's hard to find any NO cds around here, and I don't have a credit card so I can't purchase off the net... so the tracks I've heard have been rather limited, but all of them were diverse from one another... which is why I'm asking, because those are 2 of the tracks I find myself listening too more then others...

For that slick produced sound, try "Republic" (Stephen Hague produced this as well as True Faith), although this is not their best album by far..

I would recommend in this order: Substance (actually a singles collection, both A and B sides- True Faith appears hear as well) Technique Low Life Power, Corruption, and Lies Get Ready Republic Brotherhood Movement

Hi there!

Regret, BLT, Paradise, Close Range, Temptation are all quite "uppy" if consider yourself a "semi-fan" then perhaps you might wanna start off with International or perhaps splash out on Retro, although be prepared to shed your "semi" status as you'll soon be a fully fledged fan mark my words!! :evil4:

Thanks a heep guys! I appreciate the responses... and Don, I think you might have misread my post, I said I was a semi-NEW NO fan... lol not a semi-fan... I've actually enjoyed all of the tracks I've heard from them so far, and I'm going to check out some of the ones you've listed above as well, I was just admitting that my knowledge of the band and their music isn't nearly as in depth as the likes of you and those like you who have been fans of the group for decades... I have alot to learn about the group and am appreciative of the knowledge you all share with me.

thanks.

You haven't seen anything yet - Rocket Mick and Garymac haven't said hello yet! Got yer email, I have a spare copy of a compilation I put together a while back, it's called Rough Mix, starts off with New Order's very first release and ends with their very last release. I am sure you will enjoy it. It will be sent off to you Saturday morning - as I have a package to send to another Onliner.

Hooky's 6 String - if yer reading, them 2 videos will finally be on their way to you. There's about 7 concerts altogether:thumb:

Thanks for the welcome, Casey, and thanks for the cd Shug, Like I said, I really appreciate it. I've actually been trying to search the internet for some concert footage or documentaries of the band, but so far haven't been able to do so... I have found a few music videos and the Joy Division video for Transmission... thought that was pretty interesting.

No, but it seems a fair few of the older ones might be ("in the end you will submit, its got to hurt a little bit" is a bit dodgy...)

true faith. I just love it. Its the feel and the emotion that makes it great. I guess 1963 is fairly similar. true faith is NO's greatest song if u ask me. Its also the song that got me into new order :)

I'll do the same for you mate. I'd be happy to. I got loads of free time at work to burn cd's and I have nothing else to do, plus KC to Kentucky is not far at all considering most of these lads are across the pond. Send me an email to jnooteboom@litigationinsights.com and I'll send what Shug can't.
