Who hasn't seen NO live? And why not?

I didn't really get into New Order until 1998 or so. I missed the boat on New Order in their prime. And they haven't played NY since I became a fan. Sucks.

your not the only one. Ive only really started getting in to them and it would be great to see them live. Hopefully I will one day, would of been better if it was 1985 though :\ohwell:

I was too young to see them before Republic. They were on Moby's Area 52 tour or something but they cancelled when they got to Toronto, so if theyre in the greater toronto area or hamilton or something again I will go.

I chose to spend my summer concert money in 2001 seeing Depeche Mode at the Gorge, which is a long drive, instead of seeing the Order there 5 days later. And yet, I didn't see the Order when they played a much shorter drive away the next day. Worst reason for missing a show ever.

Only got into them just before get ready - was away the summer of touring. Cant wait to see them.

The problem with adoring a band and longing for the day you finally see 'em live is that (espec. with the Order) they may well let you down. My advice for any adoring NO virgins is this: when in Rome, do as the Romans do, and drink as much strong lager as is humanly possible beforehand. The band will then sound like the voice of God, even if they are, in fact, shite.

Believe me, it works for the rest of us!!!;)

Well, first off, I'm an American whose stayed on the East coast for my whole life, so I wasn't able to see them when they came over for the Area 1 tour. Before then, I was about 9 when Republic came out, and, at that point, I used to think Kriss Kross and Marrs' "Pump up the volume" were good music.

Saw them first at Sheffield Roxy 1987.Great gig but i would have liked to have seen them first around 83 - 84.

I believe the last time New Order was in Utah was in support of Technique back in 1989 and I didn't even know who New Order were at that time. I was too busy getting excited to see M.C. Hammer that summer.

Since then, New Order haven't been near enough or I haven't been wealthy enough to pay to travel to see them.

They better get on a US tour after the next album or there may be more "dying fans".

I couldnt see them on Area One as I live in Ohio and New Order havent toured the US since 1993, so I haven't gotten to see them.

I don't know why they can't do a 15 - 20 date tour of the US. They could easily fill up 3,000 seat venues, they are still pretty popular here.

I hope I get to see them, although I gotta say that Phil annoys me by playing guitar on songs that don't need his guitar (like Blue Monday, Crystal, Brutal, and Regret). I dont like it when the keyboard parts get put on the backing track so Phil can play the same part Barney is playing. Part of what makes New Order cool is that they mixed rock with dance, and that they played all their electronic stuff live.

im only 14 and in toronto canada, so ive never had the oppertunity to see them live. they better come to toronto next tour.

I've never seen NewOrder because I'm too mean to buy concert tickets, & if I did feel like splashing out, I couldn't be arsed to organise transport to the venue.

Besides, I wouldn't want to see the shambles passing itself off as NewOrder now anyway, with Phil Cuntingham & that old bag of a backing singer, not to mention Barney looking more of a knob-end with that embarrasing dad-dancing & whooping he does. I think I'd rather see Busted or Britney Spears. Maybe I will one day... :)

they did come by dallas a couple times, but i was like 7 or 8 i think...

I didn't go to a lot of club shows in the '80's, when they were at their peak of popularity...the friends I hung out with just weren't into the same bands I was; I was their token punk rocker. I saw some great bands during that period, but just didn't make a lifestyle out of it.

The last time New Order came through here, I was determined to go see them...until I found out it was at The Gorge, out in the middle of nowhere in Washington. My enthusiasm for going to Area:One dimmed considerably when I realized the arduous journey that lay ahead of me...A true fan, I am.

Saw tons of shows in the 80s and 90s, when I had much more flexible working hours, and driving overnight to see the Order wasn't that big of a deal to me. Haven't seen them since 89, one factor is them not touring as much (and for Area:One, I was in Kansas, of all places).

Can't remember why I missed the Berkeley shows in the mid-80s, so that's something I've regretted to an extent, would've loved to heard the Anarchy encore in person. Though I don't go to nearly as many gigs as I did, I would still cross the pond to catch one, because even though they may not play many of the older songs that many fans want to hear, I've got a feeling that there aren't that many more NO shows left.

i've never seen them live. they won't come to this area and even if they did it would be at a festival...i hate festivals.
