Things New Order made you buy.

New Order on reflection are responsible for a number of my purchases. Wanting to hear their music in as good a way as possible in the mid to late 80s I just had to assemble my HIFI system. Later I added a top CD player. Heck I owned 316 for about 6 months before getting a DVD. So they made me buy that as well.

I bought a retro (1988) 5 CD changer a while back so I could have all of Retro in at once, and all in a nice black wooden patterned plastic case that matches the era of much of the tracks well

Its a Sony from when sony were obsessed with neither MD or DAT, so its got great sound quality, 5 CD changer, two tape drives, seperate graphic equaliser (!), tuner, amp and amazing speakers.

Seems to be optomised for NO's type of music as well, the reason the owner was selling it was he finally realised classical music sounded cack on it.

And all for EUR30, less than Retro

My HOUSE to store the COLLECTION in. THE BARNEY TOASTER THE GILLIAN TEA-MAKER THE HOOKY HOOVER THE STEPHEN DUST_BUSTER-shaped like a TANK. THE AHW WAFFLE MAKER...........

They made me buy too much lager, and made me "buy into" that whole professional northerner we-hate-London ethos.

Just bought some cushions that bare a stark resemblance to the cover of Crystal 12"(Lee Combes remix).

Of course I've rotated it 270°

I bought an original lithograph of this:

by 80's artist and videographer and director Robert Longo from his "Men in the Cities" series. The connection to the BLT video.

Started with a decent car to make the drive down to Oakland to see 'em (maybe NOT the primary reason I bought it, but hey, it was around that time anyway). Also bought a VHS machine for the PFD video, I had (and still do) all of the previous Ikon videos on Beta.

By going down to Cali, I had to buy the Joy Divison/New Order In Cuttings books from the Rough Trade store, because I figured I'd never see 'em again in my life if I didn't.
