Where has this song been hidden away?

I think its a sublime song, one of their best. The video is also superb.

When/where did they release it? Never heard it until recently.

It was planned to be on Get Ready, but they couldn't "get it ready" (I know, I'll leave now) soon enough, so it was released on the 24 Hour Party People soundtrack in 2002.

I'm glad someone finally agrees with me that the video for HTS is superb. Most, I think, have dismissed it because a fair portion of it is footage from 24HrPP, but I like how it's presented. If you saw 24HrPP, this song was played during the end credits. I first heard it there and soon after, found the song and video on a site for 24HrPP. The site's long gone, but the video's up on here. Unfortunately, although the original version of the song is good, the remixes (particularly any one with "scum frog" in the title) are terrible. Then again, even good songs, like Sub-Culture as well, get botched remixes.

I love Here to Stay. It's better than almost any song off of get ready in my opinion.

It would have improved GR immensely. I think many NO fans may not be aware of its existence, which would be a travesty. The video is nice because the whole feel of the song is of how the Order have been through so much and are here to stay, and the clips from the movie really fit well. Makes me want to watch it again actually.

On another note, is the 24HPP soundtrack worth having?

Yes! for Moby, Billy Corgan and New Order doing a live version of "New Dawn Fades". For the Happy Mondays tracks and tracks by A Guy Called Geraled and Duritti Column, as well as Sex Pistols and Buzzcocks, have i forgotten The Clash? Oh, and all the JD/NO tracks. A good purchase in my opinion.

you should track down the extended instrumental and full length versions, I think they're on a promo 12" - great stuff

at last! i personally think hts was one of the better new tunes no have brought out,as someone said further up the page it would have made get ready more interesting! london records should be ashamed of themselves really,i mean a fantastic film like 24hpp and they didnt seem to promote hts?

what a damn shame it did'nt get any higher in the charts either,fantastic song!

The extended instrumental is top quality, right now my fave NO instrumental. I think it's on Retro as well as on the Australian single...

If I was London Records, I'd put it on the new album (and hence not have to put on whatever the new albums Slow Jam and 60MPH-alikes are), and rerelease it as the first single

Video is amazing, nice to see they had the sense to release a DVD Single of it (because London doing something intelligent marketing wise isn't common). Nice to be able to see the video fullscreen on a TV, considering it got close to no airplay when it came out.

Is the DVD of the video only in Europe? I can't seem to find anything like it in the US.

Is it not on the American 24HPP DVD? It's on the European/Oz versions.

get the single. the bside "player in the leauge" was damn good too and the remixes to here to stay were fucking great. i think im thinking of the right song. cause i might be mixing it up with the electrionic song "out of my league". but im sure im not. whatever the bside track title is, its really good. never seen the video for HTS, can i get it on launch.com ?

Well I got it in HMV, but its likely it was on London only and not available on Reprise.

A pity it wasn't debuted on the 02 dates. A mime would have been better than nothing.
