Which era do you want the new album to sound like?

IF the new album were to sound like an old one, which one would you like them to emulate?

For me it would be a progression on get ready tending toward brotherhood

I chose 81-86. If they get something with the melancholy edge of Low Life and the good old sequencers, I'll be happy.

Aww I wanted to choose 81-90 (before WIM)

1981-86 is a huge spectrum of NO sound, thus the reason I selected it. I'd actually make the cut off at 1985.

1981 - 1986 but "updated", whatever that means. Actually i don't care, i want the new album and i want it now.

I would prefer it to sound new,fresh and original not like any other album but with all the qualities that make New Order the great band that they are,but most importantly I really cannot wait to get my hands on it.

I would like the new album to sound like either era Lynn or era Duckworth.

I love the technique era so would be well pleased if thats the sort of sound they go for. I'd be more than happy if they continued in the vein of 'Here to Stay' though!!

81-86 for me, not necessarily based on albums released, more on the live performances. nothing beats that era

I reckon it will be Technique with a bit of Herman's Hermits thrown in. Maybe Jimmy Goodwin will feature so save Barney the hassle of playing any instruments. Johnny Marr would do vocals to save Barney the hassle of having to sing. He could also play the bass to save Hooky from doing it.

I really hope it sounds good but I am slightly worried that it may sound dated.

I'm with you... I've found that I find myself listening to more of their music from this time period then the others... although I was impressed with the more 'band' sound of Get Ready.
