Yes. It's pretty easy to see that massive drug use ages you before your time. Keith Richards and Ozzy might live forever, but one look at their faces and you would guess they are in their 60's. Granted Barney and Hooky don't look anywhere near that bad. Just using them to make a point.

What chemical indulgences specifically did Steve-o do? Aside from probably acid (evolution of Blue Monday?) and speed (the man was a literal drum machine in the 80s).
We of course know that Barney and Hooky did everything short of heroin

Steve does however smoke most. Smoking is known to age, ie wrinkes. I don't know if Hookey still smokes, he however only took it up quite late in life. Barney for all I know never smoked (cigarettes that is).
It seems they've aged a lot more in the years when they weren't together 93-98 (see New Order Story and 316). Since they got together again they don't seem to have aged that much if at all (see 316 and 511).
Conclusion if they don't want too age they should stay together. Its for their own good.
don't know how so many people voted for Barney ?! He lost his schoolboy image years ago and he looks like an old fart now. Hooky, I reckon, has always looked 'mature' and Steve's the only one that doesn't look like he's in his late 40's.
