Where are the lyrics for this? Ok, the term lyrics may not be appropriate so how about the words? Can't seem to find them anywhere and I have tried, honestly.

Also some samples from Space Odyssey and Caligula I think, or was that Murder ?
I seem to recall reading something about it, either in the FAQ here or over on New-Order.net

Indeed, Moirder.
Where does the "don't put your finger" quote come from?
Either "Pennies From Heaven" or "The Singing Detective", can't recall which. Not a sci-fi film, just some bog-standard TV that has been put through some effects.

Nah! It was the thing set on a canal barge.
thats right, i remember the final line from the song which was something like 'xxxx xxxxxx is going to hound you'. then a load of people jumped into the canal. cant remember anything else
Canal thing was very wierd. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called.
Back to the lyrics, isn't there a "We're going to get you" in there somewhere...
Sorry to bring this thread back from the long dead, but have a bit more information on the vocal samples (something that has bugged me for many years).
The 'canal barge' programme was a BBC TV adaptation of Alan Ayckbourn's black comedy/drama 'Way Upstream', first transmitted on 1st of January 1988 at 10pm on BBC1 (before or at the start of the 'Technique' sessions, I'd imagine). I'm not sure if it has ever been repeated (certainly not for many years anyway), and has never been released commercially. Way Upstream@AlanAykbourn.net
I quite vividly remember watching it at the time, mostly due to the bizarre 'nightmare' sequence near the end (where the samples were taken from), and for the full frontal nudity at the end (I was 15 at the time and watching with my parents, so I remembered that bit particularly well...). When 'Fine Time' came out and I heard the b-side I remembered hearing the vocal samples somewhere, but by then couldn't remember the name of the play. I asked about it on a TV forum recently, and based on the bits of plot I could remember someone provided the title. Some clips of it are available on youtube, but not the 'nightmare' part, so I still couldn't be sure. However, I have finally managed to obtain a copy to confirm it was where the samples came from.
The dialogue samples used are: "Keith Taylor is going to hound you!" "I'm going to hound you Wingate!" (both by Barrie Rutter as Keith Taylor) "You can't go under the bridge Alistair, it's one of the conditions of hire..." (by Marion Bailey as June Taylor - she then fires a STEN gun, the sound of which was also sampled) "We're going to get you..." (by Lizzy McInnerny as Fleur) The reverb/echo effects on the voices are part of the soundtrack, the band didn't add them.
Unfortunatley I can also confirm "Don't put your finger on the button" does not feature anywhere in ths programme's dialogue, so that one is still a bit of a mystery. It may be from one of the other programmes mentioned in this thread.

Play it forward - "Your mother sucks cocks in Hell"
