Anybody heard already the 'new' 1988 808 State 'Acid house mixes' to be released September 20th.
Well today I received this brand new 12" copy of two previously unreleased New Order mixes by 808 State. Lucky me some copies have been sent out already. Here's the link you can find all the info/pre-order: http://www.warprecords.com/?mart=CAT806
Yeah, I got mine direct from Warp, before the release date. Fairly average 808 State, really. Sounds like the 'Blue Monday' mix came from an old master tape, as the stereo balance "wobbles" at times. Not bad, but not essential either.
Interesting to note that even though it's on Rephlex Records, the artist as stated as New Order, rather than it being 808 State. Technically, it's not a remix, as there is nothing from the original versions - making them cover versions. The lines between covering a song and remixing a song are very blurred these days, anyway - but it should count in the New Order discographies as one of the band's releases. Very similar to The Advent releasing 'Everything's Gone Green', but in reverse!

Thanks. In danger of being very off topic. Assuming you listened to the live "EP" of our recent Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms gig - the six free mp3 downloads?
These were recorded straight from the sound desk on the night, then I tightened up the dynamics for the live CD using the mulitband compressors on my Roland VS-1824CD digital studio workstation. I normally use the 1824 as the central hub of our studio recordings, and the sound quality is better than what you can hear on the live mp3s - with tons of backing vocals thrown in for good measure. Once you've downloaded all the free tracks at TrustNoOne.org.uk, pop on over to our Brightskies site, where you can download hi-quality versions of our 8-track 'Promo' CD, with some studio recordings on.

You can't have too many quality 12" singles in your record collection.
I refused to buy a 12", so until they release those on CD, I'll rely on mp3s people will send me.
