No more Electronic Sumner.... I agree, whatever happened to the more passionate, minimalist, LowLife Sumner?

I know people mature and evolve, and that is a good thing, but I miss the more direct less sophisticated Sumner vocals... Even the Sumner on the 1st Electronic lp... I want to hear him speaking from his heart again, not worrying about being professional....

Perhaps it is impossible. I was dismayed at 511 with him circling on one leg like a chimp and whistling during Atmosphere, etc... get back to basics Bernard... you probably never read this stuff, but from a longtime fan, go minimal again!!!!!

I miss deadpan Barney... I hate this very pop-like style of singing he's now adopted. This lazy way of pronouncing the word time as 'tam' etc... I liked the almost spoken style he used in the early to mid 80s

I actually like the pop vocals. They're cleaner and less distracting, although I would like more keyboards and dance tracks on the album, or, to have it sound in the same vein as Here to Stay or Technique.

Double BASS.A few dancier type melodies then my son may actually play some in his sets.But i hope whatever happens they produce something that is SPECIAL.Hoping too that the ARTWORK gets BETTER.And please no more CRAP videos.

I would like to see more Hooky bass as usual, but different production on his bass per each track would be nice. It gets a bit boring (at times) when the same old twanging comes in each song sounding exactly the same, I hope the producer treats Hooky's bass with alot of respect and does something new with it this time around (see Monaco's Sedona & Ultra for good examples of what I mean)

I don't want more Barney guitar unless it's like the earlier stuff or something new style-wise. The monotonous "NER-NER-NER-NER" drunkenly strummed on Slow Jam and Rock The Shack almost fucked up Get Ready for me. The Run Wild (Osborne mix) dreamy acoustic playing was nice though, and Primitive Notion was cool too. But overall the relenting wall of GR guitar sound just got SO boring after a while. I expect that style from twentysomething seventies-cloned indie bands, but not from the same folk who brought us Regret, Low-life, Joy Division's career etc. Where's the melody gone? Rocking out's fine perhaps once or twice an album but anymore and you risk turning into Spinal Tap.

Finally, for the love of God bring back the synthesisers and electronica to a larger degree. And no, I don't mean ditch the instruments and morph into the indie Pet Shop Boys but more epics like Vanishing Point, Special, and True Faith please. The less Rock The Shacks this time around the better. :nonono:

I have high hopes for this album but I really will be gutted if it's Get Ready (Part 2).

I know it's a false hope, but I'd really like to see (or hear) Gillian on the new album. Let's not see an acknowledgement in the credits that say "Dedicated to GG, New Order member 1981-200?"

I'd like to see catchy lyrics and guitar/synth riffs. Also, their eclectic use of music genres and tones. Staying up to date but keeping their vintage or rather, recognizable sound.

Basically, what they have been doing since they became a band. Works for me.

Synths, synths and more synths; I wouldn't mind if they jumped on the whole IDM glitch bandwagon and did something exceedingly wonderful with that, as New Order are wont to do.

...And, as many others have said, less whooping and more Hooky. :laugh:

No vocals by Hooky, he's worse than Barney (although he has improved over the years). Stephen should do some vocals, he's the best singer out of the three of them, but then that would make him like Phil Collins, so perhaps not.
