Please help NewOrderOnline to survive !

Hello everyone,

As you might know, NewOrderOnline.com is a website that exists only because of the kindness of its members. The site would be closed since 2002 if it wasn't because of that.

In fact, contributors helped paying the hosting fees of this server since the last 3 years, and it's the only way we can make this work.

As you also know, we switched host recently, so I had to pay a full year + renew domain and everything, so I'm now asking who wants to contribute to this full year of NewOrderOnline. As you know, I give time for this website, but I don't want to invest money in it as I'm already putting time that I should put somewhere else ;)

We are hosted at WebHost4Life now, you can check yourselves if you want to see how much it is, but I paid 259.35$ USD for the full year ahead of us, and a few dollars for the domain hosting.

So you got it, I'm launching the donation time of the year to be able to raise 260$! I hope we can reach this, so far in the past I managed to get lower fees that this, but obviously, NewOrderOnline is getting more and more popular, so...

This is, of course, for people having PayPal accounts or that CAN have one, some people sent me money off the mail.

What happens to you next? Well, not much actually, you'll become a "Salvation Member", your name will be listed in the "about us" page of this website.. I originally wanted to give all those people a @neworderonline.com email, but the problem is, since we had to switch host too many times, datas got screwed and it's not a sure thing you'd keep it, so it's not really worth it. But I think that if you like this website, and use it, even if you send only 1$, it'll be appreciated, and the money will be put to good use.

So, is that speech good enough? , seriously though, this is probably our last shot at traditionnal web hosting.. if we get bumped again, we won't have a choice but to use a dedicated server, so far I've been very satisfied with this new host, if you ever want to use that host, let me know, their referral system is also giving us donations, so it might be useful as well.

Well, it does help, but not to pay the fees... ;) At least, not until we sell the original batch I guess, and I'd feel cheap to get money before the artists...

We thought about adding 1-2$ extra off all copies of Community, but I dropped the idea.. might be back for a Community 2 though, who knows...

Not a bad idea.. my sole problem with this is what people are going to think of it. Should it be kept anonymous?

If any extra (which never happened) money is raised, it'll be used for the next year for sure, or for an eventual move. However this year people seems to be a little nuts and too generous I must say ;)

He did, that's the only reason, and I didn't notice he was already there.

I'm closing donation season, we got more than enough already... thanks to everybody for contributing.

However, you can still do it if you want to, all contributions are more than welcomed as it will be used for the site.

If you still want to contribute in another way, I urge you to buy Community or CommunityEP, this will help doing a second Community contest in the future.

Kudos everyone, you are top users! Unless we are bumped from our host again, it should take a 10 months or so before the next fund raising ;)

Come on, Andrei. I'm not an Uncle Scrooge type of person. I'm renowed for my generosity and I'm always sending free stuff to my mates. I've never sent you anything because... You don't deserve anything! :p

You mean a place where is says how much is left in the NOOL fund?

We raised enough to pay for the annual fees, that's for sure, so until we get busted again and need a dedicated server, we're safe for a full year ;)
