I'm a thinking that NO and Bowie would be pretty cool. C'mon...Bowie can pretty much sing with anybody and sound god doing it. Bowie is about the only person I can think of that (IF THERE WERE lyrics to Elegia) could manage to sing to such a dirge as that. Besides maybe Ian...

Gillian played with one finger, so that's why Lol would be the most logical replacement.
I wouldn't mind seeing New Order and Johnny Marr *seriously* collaborate, especially as Barney's guitar style basically hasn't done anything interesting in years (as typified by just about all of Get Ready) it would be like Electronic with a superb drummer AND Hooky's brilliant bass sound, surely a perfect pop combination and a possible number 1 single? Doubt it'll happen as Hooky would get very jealous :D but perhaps he could bring in Pottsy to counter Marr's presence and add a bit of sixties-ish guitar to the proceedings as well as perfectly suited backing vox for Barney :D Mind you, I will eat my sofa if that ever happens...
I wouldn't want to see another Chemical Bros collaboration because I found their last proper "Come With Us" album really very underwhelming as well as the actual Here To Stay single (I know many people here love it, it's not bad but it sounded pretty formulaic IMO) The Chemical Bros. "songs" sound like they've simply been assembled, and not written in a very natural way... I don't know what it is about them, I like some of their stuff but I think they've gone as far as a duo of their nature can go. If they release any more acoustic/electro doodles with that bloody Beth Orton on vocals I won't be buying (or even downloading) it.
As for other NO dream collaborators, how about UNKLE? If Barney's scared of electronica these days because "you need a fookin' degree" they're masters of that and decent production in many ways. UNKLE to me are like a darker (and better) Chemical Bros. plus their last album "Never Never Land" had some pretty decent dance/trip hop compositions with Ian Brown guesting on one track. Their first album "Psyence Fiction" was great as well, I highly recommend them. They'd give NO a shiny modern edge and they're collaborated with so many people before it might be a shrewd move for the band.
However, Gwen Stefani from No bleedin' Doubt would not have been my first choice of collaborators for NO 
But perhaps she can give Hooky and Barney tips on how to achieve that "perfect six-pack" in the studio

Yes, but Rodger might do more with the keyboard. Maybe he'd make it a bit more prominent or he'd be able to play more things so that the band wouldn't have to sequence them.
I think a New Order collaboration with Ian Curtis would be my dream one...I fact, I have dreamed it before.
I agree on David Bowie and New Order, I epeically like David Bowie, his voice would suit some of their songs, and If those two where to work togeather it would be and my friends rob dream come true, since rob is a big fan of Joy Division. Rob hates new order but loves joy division, i dont get it....
I can't say I'm in favour of New Order collaborating but it seems more and more likely these days.
A few years ago there where rumours of a major Bowie tribute album. My wishlist included:
Cat People- The Sisters of Mercy Rebel, Rebel- The Jesus and Mary Chain Sound and Vision- Electronic
Sound and Vision has a nice electronic edge and Johnny Marr would probably be able to do something nice with the guitar lines. As an added bonus, Bernard wouldn't have to memorise much in the way of lyrics.

I think they would bring something interesting along,although probably only as producers.
If New Order ever collaborated with that c#nt Bowie I'd torpedo Barney's boat, Mortar bomb Morris's Tanks and put Hooky on a diet.
However, I agree with the Ian Curtis collaboration - whatever happened to him? He's a bit quiet 'these days'.
A collaberation with Marr would be interesting. He's more accomplished as a musician in the technical sense as you can hear from twisted tenderness. I'd say a few of the songs on TT had more and more varied chords than entire NO albums. as well as being more 'multi-structured'
a proper collab with kraftwerk would be ace, espec if they toured together. those four behind laptops with steve battering away, barney leaping around like a..a.. old bloke and hooky trying to put them off.
also what has a 50-50 chance of being interesting would be Lyndsey Buckingham, though his recent output has been a bit odd.

Of course I would want Barney to sing, David would do something small like they do in Getting away with it and Turn my way. And speaking of Turm my way, it would be a much better song if Martin Gore sang it. Even David would have made it a little more darker sounding, and much better then Billyboy.

Franz Ferdinand? They have after all pinched at least one NO bassline.
Barneys single with sub-sub was pretty good but dont know if a 2 band (with the doves) one would work other than being a manc supergroup.

As regards FF, i'm a bit biased in that I used to know the drummer(although I liked "Take me out" before realising who they were), they're better than most stuff around thats new. Its very weird seeing someone you've known constantly popping up on TV.
Radiohead, Coldplay or Interpol 
Of course, I do dream about a collaboration between New Order and Depeche Mode or The Cure, but that's my north american spirit....
