It took me a while to think about it, but now, it's done in parts, but I guess it will be a work-in-progress.

I just added the "collection" part of the discography where you can select what you own or not. It's been a while I wanted to do this, but I never found a good way to do it, and I finally decided to make it like the Discogs website... simplicity, however this doesn't apply really to NOOL.

Discogs list a "release" as, well, Blue Monday 12" UK, not as "Blue Monday" with x amount of versions available.

So what I had to do is to do a page where you select the "versions" you own, because many people here own several releases of the same discography item (for instance, I have the UK and the US Retro).

So basically, you visit the discography and you check at the left side, at the bottom, you can see how many people OWN this item, how many people WANT this item, then you have buttons to add it to your own or want list.. (however, both buttons go to the same page as we speak)

But what is missing? Well, I need of course your comments to make it better, but still:

  • There is no page to see your own collection yet, when you'll have selected everything you own, it'll be easy to print your own collection.

  • Should I allow to make a collection "public" ? (with option in the account options to make it private)

  • The discographic data on the website has been a little corrupted when passing from NOOL v2 to v3, I'm currently working on it, meaning the varions "versions" are not yet all there... I have printed TLV's website and I'm doing data entry these days, so it will eventually be complete. (BTW T, as you might now notice, you are now credited in ALL discography pages, it's small, but it's there with RP Kernin, Dennis Remmer and Fernando)

So here it is, I'm launching it even if not everything is done, but count on me to finish the data entry soon, as all tracklistings are there, it's just... it has to be done!

Farewell... I'm off to sleep!

You know, if you'd asked nicely I could've sent you an ascii-file with the same info as the web-site... It may have saved you some time ;)

Thanks for the creds...

BTW: When clicking on some album in the main list to see the details I get a blank page (with whe NOOL logo on top) and the title of the page (as shown in the window-bar) says "NewOrderOnline.com - A New Order Web Site - Application Error"... And I'm using Opera... ;)

Yes, I didn't see that error.. this is actually a crash when you see this.

I fixed the problem, everything should be back to normal.

Should be there though.. all you see in the discography page should be on the other page... if not, mail me the error.

Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, Movement, PC&L and Low-Life and now completed.

Will be moving on to Brotherhood....

As I said in the first post, this page is not done yet.

Might do it tonight once Canada will beat Finland in the final of the Hockey World Cup

Not to bash TLV's work in any way, but I have to underscore that many items in our discography were added by myself and Spotnick without any outside help -- same thing when it comes to Tours & Concerts and other sections of the website...

But yes, the New Order Discography is certainly the main reference. :thumb:

Nicos...just for that, I hope Saku Koivu gets himself a hat trick to do your Canadian team in!!!

I guess I better watch, since this might be the last decent hockey match for quite some time!!!

Albums up to Republic done.

Well Jeff, the ONLY drama in this, is I have a game between Canada and the Canadien's captain...

Tough dilemma!

I've just found this new feature and will be putting in my sixpence worth when I have some time. However, just one small thing: when you click on the list of people who own a particular album, the names come up looking like e.g. Sir CHUNKS ...

edit: it doesn't actually show Sir Chunks like above, but all the actual keystrokes used to make up the name, you'll know what I mean when you have a look

Couldn't see the UK listing of the original vinyl release of Unknown Pleasures.....it's listed on the front of the relevant page, but doesn't appear on the list where you can choose.

, a challenge it is.. it will work soon... as the real count of members having an item.

Got it... list should be accurate.

(Well, should be similar to the one shown on the discography page)

All albums are done (not verified though), and all singles up to the Perfect Kiss.

Is that a boring job or what...

I had all the tracklistings entered, but not the "versions" of each item... so it takes time!

How do I see my collection. Everytime I click that box it comes up blank.

Ok sorry I know not done yet.

So, everything POST Crystal (singles, EPs) is done...

But still, they did 1000000 promos with those Get Ready singles or what...

What an excellent idea.

All singles up to Run 2 are now completed, but not checked...

And well, HTS, SLY and 60MAH are also done... I'm not heading to the horrible world of the Republic era... (lots of versions!)

Alright, all singles are done... that is a very boring job.

TLV, if you see this, I noticed you are missing the Belgium releases of Crystal, NUOCDP8/NUCDP8

Problem is, I don't remember the tracklisting of those, will have to ask around, but damn it, is there many promo CDR for Crystal or what...

I'm seriously thinking about putting TABS in the discography to have a view with the promos and one without... because there is way too much of those!

He, he. Believe me, I know what boring means... ;)

Anyway, does it say that the CD5s are pressed in Belgium? I assume that the label and cat# is the same as all other releases. I can't recall every seeing any CDs made in Belgium, especially not now since everyone is part of the EU.

"Off topic:" Why are there suddenly html-tags embedded in the postings? Is it because of the WYSIWYG-editor? If so, does it support all tags, or is there a limited set of supported tags?

It supports all, until somebody does something stupid.... ;)
