Joe Simpson, the mountaineer who's real life adventure turned into the film Touching The Void chose LWTUA for one of his desert island discs (unfortunately they chose the 95 remix to play)

actually the most intersting one i've listened to for ages. he likes trance. he's an athiest. he gets bored and pissed off with the dull questioning.

worth a listen.

if you don't know what this is (i.e. you're not british) its a show where people choose 7 tracks they'd like to have if they were stranded on a desert island. in between they are interviewd on things that have happened in their life. most of the time though its the 'great and good' with their favorite list of classical music and being total asshole. this one is interesting for a change

Haven't seen Touching The Void, but i did see an interview with him. I think the amazing thing is that he does not begrudge his climbing partner.

I saw that film. What shit song was in his head all the way down the mountain? it was quite funny. Put me off venturing toward any peaks. His story is amazing. There is a part where he is effectively dead, at the bottom of a huge ice-hole, on a verge looking down, knowing that if he lowers himself any father, he will proberbally die, and may reach the bottom of a hole (while seriously injured) – you could say “staring death in the evil eye” , and he said he felt absolutely nothing religious. You would expect to find some sort of god in a situation like that, but he didn’t.

Amazing stuff. Not a bad film. I meant to get the book, but ended up forgetting about it – till now.

Every time i see you falling............ :evil4:

Dean Kiely, the Charlton keeper, was quizzed in the Sun last Saturday - favourite food, holiday resort, etc.

And his favourite song was LWTUA!

How things have changed from the days when every footballer (except Pat Nevin) would claim that Luther Vandross was their favourite recording artiste.
