Christmas Rap

Back in 83 or 84 I remember hearing a specially recorded New Order 'Christmas Rap'. I cant remember for sure what it was for - probably the bbc radio - possibly J.Peel. I had taped it off the radio & still had it a few years later, but 20 years on, its well gone now. Lyrics as follows: "Christmas is comming and we're getting fat. We've got all your money and we're not giving it back"

Something like that. Anyone else remember it? Have a copy that could be posted onto the website?

I presume the silence means that no one else remembers this? At this stage I wonder am I going mad or did I EVER hear this clip?

I'll have to go through all my old tapes from 20 years ago - see if it is hidden away there somewhere. It was brilliant at the time - i think it was christmas '83 (after Blue Monday) - it was really just them shouting (rapping) over a heavy bass backbeat. If I could just tap a computer into my memory - i can still hear it! There must be someone else in the UK or Ireland who remembers it? I wish we could contact the band & ask them.

I have a copy of this tagged on the end of an old tape. Question is, which tape? I shall have a look over the weekend and will post the entire rap in all its "glory".

Haven't found it yet - guessing now it may be on the end of one of my Felt Forum 86 copies.

im pretty sure that this was done as a promo/flexi giveaway on a pop mag at the time. either record mirror (when it went into a little mag thingy)or smash hits mag. new order were not the only ones on it though,various other bands featured as well ,kind of a merry christmas from us thing for the fans of each band. couldnt be any worse than the crimbo flexi given away at the hacienda,what a load of shite that was. its true what they say? you dont get owt for nowt.:p

I remember this and pretty sure I had the flexi - in which case I've probably still got it (but god knows where!).

Pretty sure it was Smash Hits as well - I'll make a note to have a scout round at home...!!!
