I have one of those rare Blue Monday 7" from Japan - think there was only 20 made or something. Was offered US$800 for it this year - I did not sell it. I bought it at Camden market in London in 1993 for 10 pounds.

Have Procession 7", Electric Circus 10".

After the Republic kit, it seems there was a Get Ready one as well. This item is for sale for 350$ USD at Esprit...

You have that one?

If you can EVER do a decent mp3 of it, let me know... all that managed to leak is a mono poor quality mp3, from a Japanese members, and that was 6 years ago!

Not that I care about that edit, I'm just a completist in terms of MUSIC...

No....i think i was offered a copy when it first appeared for aprox £70 which was £40 above what i would pay for ANY artefact at that time. Most of my collection was CHEAP AS CHIPS .Just happened to have some good DEALERS.My main collecting was done for the LOVELY 12 inch ARTWORK covers. But i can see why this is an OBJECT OF DESIRE,but i think i would have wanted a CLONE OF GILLIAN at that time.Mind you BLOW UP DOLLS were well collected in CORBY back then!

Don't have it. Unfortunately. In addition to the two above I know of a guy in New Zealand, one in Germany, and one in Japan (or was he the one who sold it on eBay?).

I believe I can plug my turntable into the computer so in theory I could give it a go - although I've never tried it. Might give it a go when I get a spare moment.

TLV,

I believe I'm the guy from Japan who got in contact with you about this a while back.

Still got it. Still don't have a turntable, though, so I can't record it for posterity yet. :uhoh:

Get a DECENT sound system and enjoy VINYL again. You can get one that will be far cheaper than what your RECORD is worth. On a serious note don't just let them rot in their covers.Cos when you get my age you will realize that you can't take your VINYL with you when you leave this mortal coil.So relax and enjoy....but keep em MINTY MINT.

Guilty as charged of being a collector geek without even having a turntable to play them on. For the most part, my iPod satiates me. Besides, how can I keep the records MINTY MINT if I play them!?

If you mean Marcio (from Japan), yes he's the one who sold it on EBay... so I guess this is now Sultan's copy right?

I thought you were from New Zealand, or did you just get the record in New Zealand, or am I just totally confused by this? :)

I was only three when ‘Blue Monday’ was released. So I was very delighted to be able to pick up a US Import copy of the Qwest 12” single re-release a few weeks ago here in the UK.

My favourite New Order track is the 1983 ‘Confused Instrumental’ b-side. When the song was remixed and re-released in 1993 I was only 13, and I certainly didn’t know of anyone who bought 12” singles of a similar age then (not being mature enough to save up and buy a copy is a regret of mine).

My first impressions of the 808State acid mixes weren’t that great, but I sincerely hope that both the band and those who have worked with them will encourage similar projects to this.

substance gatefold definitely the nicest. brotherhood cd (the original that came in the car carry case with the metallic sleeve - though dont have the case is also nice as i didnt realise it was the original when i picked it up & only bought it for the press technique sticker it was being sold with)

I have recently got myself a 12" promo of Hear to Stay/Crystal with a couple of remixes on the B side. I guess there are thousands of these about though I only paid £2.50 for it and the person who owns the shop knows his Factory stuff.

I guess my gem is still the Republic CD cover that I got Hooky to ink his signature to. It isn't much...but hey, it's what I got!

TLV,

No, you're just confused. :) Have lived in Japan, and got my precious BM 7" here as well (took me long enough, though).

I have a good quality rip of the BM 7", but I doubt it's authenticity. I think someone took me at my word when I jokingly suggested on here some time back that you could easily do your own homemade "Japanese edit" with nothing more than the original CD and knowledge of where to start the fade out...

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that someone found the 7" in New Zealand... Oh well, I still don't have it.

I believe I have a home-made edit on a MD somewhere. The edit is from Brian McGee (IIRC).

I was never that into record fetishism, so my most prized possession is a 1990 letter on headed "CampaignTechnique" Factory notepaper from on Mr P. Hook. He calls me "mate" and everything......

...and also tells me that "there ain't gonna be no gigs for a long time".

Hooky: he lieth not.

What is funny about this bag is that I just bought one for around $5 US (including shipping)...am awaiting receipt...just goes to show you that you never know what you will end up paying for something.

I have overpaid many many times and gotten a few steals...anyway I enjoy collecting (and of course listening to) the music much more than items like this but couldn't pass up the price.

Well, Marcio offered me a mono mp3, so my guess was he's the one who gave you the mp3.. my mistake.

Suppose mine'd be the Paradise Garage gig poster, as well as a US 7" promo jukebox copy of LWTUA (white label).

I don't think I have a gem in my collection... rarest item I might have is the Monaco See-Saw promo (the one-side 12"), I have the way of life promo, but damn postmen, it has been broken in the mail, so useless.

I don't consider some canadian versions as gems, I know some are rare to find, but I have no merit, I just bought them at the record shop ;)
