Having witnessed a few of NO's live forays in recent years, and noted Barney's increasingly vaudeville stage mannerisms and habits, I can't help but now come to the conclusion that there seems to be a direct correllation between the fellow's ever-expanding girth and his predillection for whooping or "huh-ing" at every available opportunity. Is this really true....? The fatter Barney gets, the more he feels the inclination to release that extra pressure building up under his belt via this gratuitous belching..... Hmmmm.......most intriguing....

Your assumption is correct, and he needs that fucking auto cue, its pathetic really but we still love him
I also noticed he hops around on one leg and sticks his lips out on some of their live performances...![]()
I think he's trying to do Ian's dance with his legs. The crazy tyke.

Nobody could ever "dance" like Ian did, at least that's what i thought until i saw Sean Harris in "24 Hour Party People". When my girlfriend and i saw the film, our jaws dropped at exactly the same time when we saw him moving the same way Ian did. ![]()
Yeah, but to some it is quite endearing. My ex thought all his "Huhs" and "Whoos" and absolute shite dance antics, coupled with his beer gut were the cutest thing!! ![]()
Very strange. But at the very least, one CANNOT say that Barney doesn't hold some entertainment value. He's like a clown without the makeup! Gotta love 'im!!
I think Bernard was quite shy on stage in the early years. That's why you never got to see any on the recent antics. It appears he's just totally being himself on stage now and not really giving a damn what anyone thinks. Also, when you're an upcoming band and in your prime, it's not a good idea to start dancing around like a goose. You've got to have some kind of act. Back in the day New Order's act was to be the mysterious quiet type. They no longer have to be like that, because as they've said, they used to take it to seriously and now they just want to enjoy it.
